The responsibilities involve all aspects of fire safety including but not limited to:
Staffing, building fire safety policies and procedure, life safety equipment, and all fire prevention and protection policies. In undertaking the responsibility as Deputy Fire Safety/EAP Director comes the understanding that the individual may act in a Management role to represent the company and fulfill your obligations to the best of your ability to protect occupants and property. The Deputy Fire Safety/EAP Director while on duty will represent FNYP with the utmost professional and business-like manner at all times.

In undertaking the responsibility as Deputy Fire Safety/EAP Director comes the understanding that the individual may act in a Management role to represent the company and fulfill your obligations to the best of your ability to protect occupants and property. The Deputy Fire Safety/EAP Director while on duty will represent FNYP with the utmost professional and business-like manner at all times.
Duties:
- Managerial & Administrative responsibilities include: Operating and maintenance of the Fire Alarm System and all related equipment; maintaining the condition of all exits and paths of egress, (e.g., cleanliness, lighting, general appearance); maintaining the general condition of the Fire Command Center; and generating, filing and distributing accurate incident reports and investigating all incidents; conducting and recording all daily, weekly, monthly, and annual testing's and inspections per code or otherwise.
- Daily Preventative responsibilities include the following: On time shift relief to maintain Building Fire Safety coverage at all required times; reviewing all daily log entries regarding fire prevention and maintaining the integrity of the Log book; reviewing all daily logs to ensure that proper procedures are being followed; verifying that all fire safety related equipment and systems are operational and system information is current; verifying that all shifts are covered and schedules and instructions are posted.
- Life Safety managerial, administrative preventative and investigative responsibilities include the following: Responsibility for the monitoring and proper operation of the Fire Alarm system head end and remote panels, all field signaling devices and protection equipment including Smoke Exhaust and Stair Pressurization systems; maintaining all required Fire Department Log books as specified by Local Law No.5 & 26; conduct required Fire Department testing for fire prevention/protection; schedule and conduct all building Fire/EAP drills; direct evacuation procedures; provide pertinent information to the Fire Department during emergencies and routine visits/inspections; conduct monthly inspection and maintenance of all Fire Extinguishers and range hood extinguishing systems; conduct the monthly Elevator Recall Phase I and Firemen Service Phase II testing and maintaining records; conduct monthly communication testing of the Fire Alarm System with central station; conduct semi-annual testing of the Fire Alarm System signaling and initiating devices per code; conduct daily inspection of the building for fire prevention and protection; check the fire exits and doors to ensure proper operation and clear egress and good housekeeping practices; conduct all inspections and testing whether per NYC code or company policy.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Must have a F58 License, Secondary Licenses, S95, F78, F01, F85.
- Must have a valid driver's license. Must possess or obtain the following New York Fire Department licenses; Fire Safety certification, Certificate of Fitness.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook and internet software.
- Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations.
