Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Engineering, the Senior Director of Engineering will be responsible for leading Veryon's best in class security program and managing it's global infrastructure footprint, primarily in Amazon Web Services (AWS). The role will be expected to co-ordinate efforts amongst internal teams and external customers and partners around the globe. The candidate should have experience building and tracking to roadmaps, and be able to clearly explain and demonstrate the benefits of DevSecOps initiatives while adhering to our core values.
The Senior Director of Engineering will be a critical role at Veryon's and will need to support staff at its various locations in North America, Europe and Asia demonstrating mentoring and problem-solving skills across all departments.? This role will lead DevOps and SecOps teams and will manage vendor and partner relationships.

Within your first 30 days, gain a solid understanding of the current state of the team, the technology and the projects
- Demonstrate clear understanding of current Infrastructure, CI/CD, Security and Vendor management practices and processes.
- Gain an understanding and appreciation for all of the individuals influencing success of this role, including direct and indirect reports, peers, project stakeholders and external partners and vendors.
- Demonstrate an understanding of in-flight security initiatives, software deployment and infrastructure management practices, and company policies and procedures.
Objective #2
Within your first 90 days, demonstrate your ability to take in-depth understanding and create actionable plans of action.
- Take ownership of Veryon's security program, updating and articulating the roadmap, leading the team through execution, and showcasing the benefits.
- Establish and monitor goals and growth plans for individual team members by various means such as 1:1s and metrics
- Present a readout to senior leaders on a plan to evolve Infrastructure, Deployment and Automation practices with clearly defined milestones and regular progress reporting
- Build relationships across all departments, exhibiting a leadership presence as a go to person for all senior leadership support for Infrastructure and Security related issues.
- Evaluate usage of existing and potentially new technologies, ensuring that the team is optimized with the appropriate tooling that makes a direct impact to efficiency and effectiveness
Objective #3
Within your first 6 months, establish yourself as a senior technology leader.
- Ensure continued on-time delivery of releases, security updates and patches.
- Complete your first set of performance reviews for your team and provide recommendations for continuous improvement and career growth.
- Implement at least two innovations and demonstrate value using both KPIs and qualitative measures
- Clearly articulate the cost and time savings associated with advancements in DevOps and Security practice such as the further adoption of AI tools
- Maintain, track and provide readouts on key KPIs monthly.
- Build strong relationships across the organization as well as with customers and partners
- Take full ownership of vendor management, and manage the budget and procurement process for all software and tooling across the Engineering department.
