Job Description

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Analytics Engineer to join our development team. In this role, you will focus on understanding and optimizing customer behavior across omnichannel retail environments by leveraging advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and robust SQL-based data solutions.

This position requires deep expertise in SQL development and database management, including writing complex queries, stored procedures, and managing data pipelines. You will play a key role in building and maintaining scalable data infrastructure, ensuring data quality, and enabling consistent access to reliable data for analysis and reporting.

You will collaborate closely with marketing and ecommerce teams to transform complex customer data into actionable insights that drive strategic decisions, improve customer engagement, and support data-driven initiatives across the organization.

Responsibilities
Customer Analytics & Predictive Modeling
- Perform Customer Lifetime Value (CLV) calculations and forecasting
- Develop churn analysis models and prevention strategies
- Conduct RFM segmentation to identify high-value customer groups
- Execute purchase pattern and market basket analysis to uncover product affinities
- Build predictive models for customer behavior and retention
- Design and implement recommendation systems for personalized marketing
- Conduct cohort analysis to assess long-term customer trends
- Apply A/B testing frameworks to evaluate campaign effectiveness
- Map customer journeys and optimize touchpoints across channels
- Analyze seasonal trends and evaluate promotional impacts

Omnichannel & CRM Insights
- Understand and report on in-store vs. online shopping behavior
- Work with CRM systems and customer data platforms to ensure data integrity and consistency
- Leverage time series analysis to anticipate seasonal and cyclical patterns

Data Engineering & SQL Expertise
- Design and maintain ETL processes and data pipelines
- Conduct data quality assessments, cleaning, and transformation
- Write and optimize complex T-SQL queries, including stored procedures, window functions, CTEs, and advanced joins
- Support database administration including job scheduling, monitoring, and backup processes

Manage SQL Server tasks:
- Installation, configuration, and maintenance
- Indexing, transaction log management, and partitioning
- Backup strategies, DBCC checks, and maintenance plans
- Bulk data operations (import/export)
- User access management
- Utilize SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS for data integration, reporting, and analytics

Skills and Knowledge
Data modeling tools, Effective communication and interpersonal skills., Knowledge in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software - NetSuite experience preferred, Strong understanding of retail trends, consumer behavior, and product presentation techniques

Qualifications

Qualifications - 3 - 5 years of experience. College degree or equivalent. Strong SQL Server experience (T-SQL, SSIS/SSRS/SSAS).

Physical Requirements - Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
