Job Summary
The Lead Consultant, Water Asset Management will play a critical role in developing and growing this new service area. This role focuses on helping our client teams leverage data and systems to optimize asset performance, manage risks to ensure operational resilience, and move from reactive to proactive maintenance through change management. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic mindset, technical expertise, and strong leadership skills to drive innovation and efficiency in asset management practices. The Lead Consultant will report to the Advisory Practice Leader.

Responsibilities & Qualifications
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership
- Be a recognized leader within the water industry, maintaining strong relationships with existing and targeted clients to enable a deep understanding of their needs. Promote a client focused culture through this leadership.
- Develop the Asset Management service area focused on growth in the Water Sector (with a special emphasis in California and the Southwest).
- Research and identify asset management growth opportunities and develop, implement, monitor, and update marketing/business development plans with short- and long-range goals to achieve the target sales, as well as to diversify the portfolio with new clients and services.
- Represent the Advisory Practice at trade associations, civic, and client meetings, as required.
- Leverage technical capabilities, talent, and geographic reach to:
- Enhance client delivery
- Retain and attract the best talent
- Optimize performance
- Drive profitable growth
- Identify and expand opportunities with existing TYLin clients, focusing on working with TYLin CAMs and identifying other opportunities within the geography and with specific technical specialties.
- Lead client listening efforts to understand client needs, obtain feedback, and refine business objectives.
- Serve as Project Principal or Project Manager on major pursuits.
- Prepare/approve Quality Assurance Plans for projects.
- Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects, a positive attitude, willingness to mentor junior staff, and commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative.
Business Development/Marketing
- Build, maintain, and facilitate trusting relationships with key contacts in leadership across client organizations and support TYLin's Client Account Managers (CAMs) and team members in bringing Advisory Practice capabilities and services to client contacts.
- Capitalize on own expertise and existing professional network to maintain and establish new key account relationships and ensure they are managed for growth under TYLin's CAM program.
- Collaborate across areas within the Water Sector to promote cross-selling of Advisory Practice solutions.
- Develop, implement, monitor, and update marketing/business development plans with short and long-range goals.
- Develop and implement solution-oriented sales approaches detailed to customer market and requirements.
- Engage with Sector Leader, Area Manager, and Client Experience Leader in making go/no-go decisions on project pursuits.
- Identify competitors' strategies and pricing trends and then provide direction on winning and next steps.
- Manage pursuits, including teaming, proposal writing, and preparation of formal interview presentations.
Project Delivery
- Travel to project locations including driving and overnight stays.
- Develop and implement data-driven strategies for asset performance optimization.
- Oversee the integration and utilization of asset management systems (e.g., CMMS, GIS).
- Analyze trends and generate actionable insights to inform decision-making.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities in asset operations.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure service reliability.
- Prepare contingency plans for critical asset failures or emergencies.
- Coordinate with stakeholders, including operations, maintenance, and finance teams.
- Responsible for assuring quality work products are consistently delivered to all clients.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Requires Bachelor's Degree in relevant field.
- The ideal candidate will have approximately 15 years of increasingly responsible experience
- Proficiency in asset management tools and technologies (e.g., CMMS, GIS).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence at all levels of the organization.
- High levels of integrity, always doing the right thing in an ethical, fair, and sustainable way.
- Demonstrated experience of collaboration in a diverse and inclusive team, working together toward technical excellence.
- Experience with smart water metering and utility infrastructure is a plus.
- Knowledge of economic modeling and financial analysis is a plus.
- Familiarity with vendor analysis and selection processes is a plus.
