Overview

As the Global Asset Financing Specialist, you will analyze, secure, and manage financing alternatives for major capital asset acquisitions across Cooke and its global affiliate companies. This position plays a key role in ensuring the timely provision of financing, supporting asset acquisition and effective cash flow management aligned with approved capital budgets.

The successful candidate will have strong financial analysis skills, experience in lease financing, and the ability to build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and manage the financing process for capital acquisitions, including loans and lease agreements for property, vessels, vehicles, and equipment.
  • Interpret and assess financing alternatives to ensure alignment with corporate strategy and timelines.
  • Oversee the annual planning process for asset acquisition funding, ensuring timely reporting and adherence to credit facility requirements.
  • Manage amendments, renewals, and supporting documentation for all asset-specific loans and leases.
  • Identify and address discrepancies in financing agreements and documentation.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and provide support to global business unit leaders.
  • Maintain organized records of all loan/lease agreements, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide financial recommendations based on analysis of lease structures to optimize funding decisions.
  • Collaborate with financial institutions to create fit-for-purpose financing structures that support capital optimization.
  • Communicate and collaborate with internal teams, including executive leadership, and provide regular reports on the leasing portfolio.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent applicable experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial analysis and lease financing, ideally in a multi-entity or global environment.
  • Proven ability to manage asset financing arrangements and meet budget and timeline objectives.
  • Experience working with financial institutions and negotiating loan/lease structures.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Proficient in financial software and reporting tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and geographic regions.
  • Willingness and ability to travel outside of Canada as required.
