Executive Director of Assisted Living - Canandaigua

Quail Summit is a St. Ann's Community Partner.

Responsible for the efficient and effective operation of the communities; supervision and development of all employees; representing the community and the organization; and creating a supportive and healthy environment for residents and staff. The Executive Director is responsible for ensuring the operation of a program that is consistent with the philosophy of the organization. This position reports to the Board of Directors.

Job Description:
Oversees, directs and monitors daily operations in accordance with the established policies, goals and objectives of Quail Summit and regulations of the NYS Department of Health.
Attains and/or maintains ongoing compliance with appropriate local, state, federal, regulatory, and/or accrediting body standards
Makes an active contribution toward improving community relations, increasing positive public regard and overall awareness of the Assisted Living Residence.
Prepares and administers the operational budget and advises the Board of Directors regarding operational and capital budget needs.
Leads, supervises and develops a supportive management team that implements and maintains the programs, policies and goals adopted by Quail Summit.
Facilitates regularly scheduled Management Team meetings.
Implements and oversees quality assurance and improvement measures.
  • Continues to expand his/her knowledge through attending educational seminars and receiving the minimum CEUs required by New York State regulations each year.


Candidate Requirements:
Baccalaureate or master's degree in a health related field required.
A minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in administration and working with a senior population required.
Experience in marketing and knowledge of the community service network is preferred.
Excellent written communication skills required. Public speaking skills preferred.
Must possess a high degree of interpersonal relationship skills and capability of relating to a variety of people and personalities.
Considerable initiative, judgment, and leadership skills are also required.
Must possess strong organizational skills. Must be able to conceptualize, organize, and implement a plan for the organization, anticipate problems, predict outcomes, and plan for the future.
Must have demonstrated ability to hire, direct, and manage personnel.
Must be competent in the use of computers and various software products.
Must be available to travel for business purposes when necessary.
Vehicle, valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance required.
