We are currently seeking a Control System Engineer III - Water Technician (Bristol Specialization) to join our team in Scranton, PA (or within 60 miles). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Bristol Babcock PLCs, water/wastewater systems, SCADA platforms, and be comfortable working both independently and on-site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze system requirements, specifications, and performance objectives.
  • Design, program, and implement control systems using Bristol Babcock platforms and Allen Bradley PLCs.
  • Configure and troubleshoot ControlWave Designer (all versions), ControlWave Micro, ControlWave and 33xx Series PLCs.
  • Design and configure additional PLC systems including RS500, RS5000, and Studio 5000 environments.
  • Create and revise wiring diagrams, control panel drawings, and perform field redlines/as-builts.
  • Troubleshoot wiring (120vAC, 12vDC/24vDC), analog systems (4-20mA), and instrumentation including:
    • Flow meters
    • Pressure transmitters (transducers, differential pressure)
    • Analyzers: HACH, Lovibond, and SWAN
  • Work closely with plant operators and understand water/wastewater process systems.
  • Implement and troubleshoot SCADA systems:
    • iFIX, Iconics Gen 32 & Gen 64, Ignition Vision & Perspective
    • SCADA alarming, notifications, and reporting (XLReporter)
  • Network configuration and diagnostics including IP addressing, subnets, gateways, and managed switches.
  • Use Fluke process meters for field diagnostics and instrumentation calibration.
  • Prepare technical documentation, user manuals, reports, and presentations.
  • Provide support and training to clients and internal teams.

Travel as required-up to 50% out-of-state and throughout Pennsylvania.

Requirements

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience with Bristol Babcock PLCs and ControlWave platforms.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in the water/wastewater industry-must understand plant operations and processes.
  • Proven experience in troubleshooting instrumentation, wiring systems, and control panels.
  • Strong understanding of SCADA networks, basic IP networking, and managed switch configuration.
  • Proficient with Fluke Process Meters and related diagnostic tools.
  • Can read, interpret, and update electrical and control schematics.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent communication skills; comfortable working directly with clients and project teams.
  • Self-motivated and able to manage projects independently.


Working Environment

Duties are performed in an office environment and workshop, but will also require travel to customer sites/locations to perform analysis, installation, training maintenance, etc. Must be willing to travel approximately 50%; must be willing to work in a variety of manufacturing facilities. Must be able to routinely use standard office equipment which includes, but is not limited to, computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. Minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues.

Physical Demands

Must be able to sit and/or stand for prolonged hours consistent with the average workday; to operate a computer and other office equipment, including but not limited to computer, printer, etc. Must be able to climb stairs and/or ladders; must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl; must be able to move, transport, position, place, install, remove and/or replace various types of equipment; must be able to lift 50-70 lbs. unassisted.
