The PUYALLUP TRIBAL HEALTH AUTHORITY, located in Tacoma, Washington is seeking a Director of Professional Services to assure the quality of services provided to PTHA patients, coordinate day to day operations of the assigned professional services and recommend and implement changes that improve the delivery of care. This position is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the following professional services: wellness and community health, scheduling, medical lab and radiology. This position will work under the direction of the Clinical Director. This position is responsible for coordinating care with an interdisciplinary team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for ensuring high quality care is delivered by the professional services team and works closely with clinic leaders to assure implementation of clinical, ancillary, and business-related services meet or exceeds standards, while providing an excellent patient experience.
- Ensures continuity of care in the provision of comprehensive services and for coordinating communication with other service components. Collaborates with PTHA leadership to develop and execute short and long-term strategies for the Professional Services department that align with PTHA's mission.
- Establishes, maintains, and leads the activities in community nursing services, nutrition, wellness, public health education, laboratory services, radiology services, provider scheduling and other services as assigned. Plans, implements, evaluates, monitors, and forecasts budgets and costs in each department to achieve financial objectives.
- Collaborates with Patient Accounts department to ensure documentation exceeds requirements for full reimbursement of health services
- Facilitates discussions between clinical staff, billing teams, and EHR teams to determine effective strategies to maximize revenue and ensure effective data collection.
- Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates systems and processes. Works collaboratively with team members to implement policies and procedures that will improve day-to-day operations. Communicates and explains new initiatives, policies, or procedures to team members; explain changes, answer questions, and maintain morale. Leads coordination and integration of efforts of professional services throughout PTHA.
- Leads compliance efforts for professional services departments through interdepartmental partnerships and collaboration (i.e. I HS, AAAHC, ACGME, etc.)
Requirements
- Master's degree in Business and/or Healthcare Administration, Nursing or related field AND 7-10 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare -OR- Bachelor's degree in Business and/or Healthcare Administration, Nursing or related field AND 12+ years of progressive experience in healthcare.
- Must have management level understanding of budget and finance management
- Supervisory experience
- Extensive experience with healthcare accreditation processes (e.g., AAAHC, JCAHO, COLA, ACGME etc.).
- Proven experience in clinic operations management and organizational efficacy
- Previous experience with an Electronic Health Records (EHR) system and working in an EHR environment
- Must have proficiency in MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and experience with electronic health records systems.
