Lead and oversee the Corporate Procurement function for the enterprise, Responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies to optimize cost, quality, and efficiency across the organization. This role oversees supplier relationships, contract negotiations, and procurement operations to ensure alignment with corporate goals while maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Bring a modern and innovative perspective to the function and its services.
  • Lead development of annual and long-term goals and initiatives for Corporate Procurement. Communicates strategic vision and priorities; oversees execution through others.
  • Consult with executives, including with subsidiaries, on their acquisition needs and opportunities to ensure alignment and prioritization.
  • Build strong and sustainable relationships with our key suppliers, community partners and BCBSM customers.
  • Analyze market trends and assess supplier performance to drive strategic sourcing decisions.
  • Provide procurement advisory services as a trusted and valued business partner to business units about current and future sourcing needs.
  • Foster innovation advancement for the enterprise through business and vendor partners.
  • Monitor supplier performance, ensuring quality, reliability, and compliance with contractual obligations.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance or related field required. Master's Degree in Supply Chain Management or Juris Doctor preferred.
  • Eight years of experience in procurement or related field including five years of leadership experience.
  • Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Supply Chain Professional CSCP certification preferred.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with diverse stakeholders, at all levels, inside and outside of the company.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire top performance and manage change.
  • Ability to establish short-term and long-term goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrated track record of value capture, cost savings and cost avoidance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Ability to lead, influence, and collaborate with a team.
  • Expert project management skills and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to use data and analytics to determine root cause, drive strategy development and implement change.
  • Other related skills and/or abilities may be required to perform this job.
