Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Design and Construction Manager to oversee the planning, design, and execution of construction projects with a strong emphasis on financial management. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing budgets, timelines, and design processes while delivering high-quality board-level presentations. This position is on-site at IAH Airport in Houston. This role requires a strategic leader who seamlessly integrates financial oversight with project management to ensure successful project delivery within scope, budget, and schedule.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Oversight: Lead the design and construction phases of multiple projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, quality standards, and client expectations.


  • Financial Management: Develop, manage, and report on project budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and financial accuracy. Conduct regular financial analyses to identify risks and opportunities.


  • Board-Level Reporting: Prepare and deliver monthly presentations to senior leadership and board members, providing clear, concise updates on project progress, design milestones, budget status, and timelines.


  • Budget and Timeline Management: Monitor and report on project budgets and schedules, implementing corrective actions as needed to keep projects on track.


  • Purchase Order Administration: Review, approve, and issue purchase orders (POs) in accordance with project budgets and procurement policies.


  • Team Leadership: Manage cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors, fostering collaboration and accountability.


  • Risk Management: Identify potential financial and operational risks, developing mitigation strategies to ensure project success.


  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, providing regular updates and addressing concerns.


  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance design, construction, and financial management processes to improve efficiency and outcomes.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in construction management, Architecture, Engineering, Finance, or a related field. Master's degree or PMP certification is a plus.


  • Experience: Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in design and construction management, with at least 5 years in a senior role overseeing budgets and financial reporting.


  • Financial Expertise: Strong background in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control within construction projects.


  • Presentation Skills: Demonstrated ability to create and deliver polished, data-driven presentations to executive leadership and boards.


  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, or similar), financial tools (e.g., Excel, ERP systems), and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) is preferred.


  • Leadership: Proven ability to manage diverse teams and complex projects under tight deadlines.


  • Detail-Oriented: Exceptional organizational skills with a focus on accuracy in financial reporting and PO administration.


  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to distill complex information into clear, actionable insights.


Salary Range: $85,000 - $120,000 per year + Bonus Eligibility
