The People & Culture Manager (US), reporting to the Senior Manager for People & Culture, is an on-site position working from our Warehouse in Cartersville, GA, supporting both our warehouse team in Cartersville and our US-based corporate team working remotely across the United States. The People & Culture Partner will provide generalist support across the full spectrum of the Human Resources discipline while owning programs critical to our US Supply Chain Teams, including, but not limited to, (1) safety and workers' compensation, (2) time and attendance, and (3) front-line communications. The People & Culture Manager will frequently switch between strategic and tactical work while supporting front-line and corporate Team Members (from individual contributors to executives). The People & Culture Manager will act as the role model and demonstrate the company's core values of Ownership, Curiosity, Respect, Frugality, Flexibility and Outcomes.

In your first 90-days -
- Take ownership of our US-based safety and workers' compensation programs, including any active claims. This includes developing materials to inform/educate our Teams on relevant processes and ensuring safety committees are active across all our physical worksites.
- Co-create and relaunch a robust time and attendance program, including policies, scheduling practices, attendance tracking, labor tracking, and related tools and resources.
- Develop, implement, and maintain a strategy for translating corporate programs and communication to front-line Team Members ensuring they are included in/aware of all key messages.
- Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition Team to refine our warehouse staffing strategy and clearly outline roles and responsibilities related to warehouse staffing.
How will you be measured?
- Stakeholder feedback/satisfaction as captured by the annual stakeholder survey.
- Annual engagement and semi-annual engagement survey improvements.
- Minimizing regrettable turnover, improving retention, and achieving time-to-hire expectations for warehouse positions.
- Develop a strong safety culture within our physical operations and effectively and efficiently managing workers' compensation claims.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
General Responsibilities:
- Provide full-lifecycle generalist support for all US-based Team Members, including those working in our physical locations and remotely.
- Partner with other People & Culture Teams (Talent Acquisition, People Operations, Learning & Development, Communications) to effectively deploy resources and address Team Members' inquiries.
- Work with the Global People & Culture Team to create, manage, and implement Team engagement strategies to improve the Team Member experience, further ingrain our values into the organization, and create accountability for Team members and People Leaders alike.
- Develop proactive strategies to understand and mitigate potential Team Member Relations concerns before concerns grow into problems.
- Support, coach, and mentor People Leaders (Leads, Supervisors, Managers) with People & Culture processes, including performance management, corrective action, conflict management, and expectation setting.
- Investigate and resolve Team Member concerns, whether raised directly or through our AllVoices Integrity Hotline, using appropriate tools, taking partners, and documenting actions in our case management tool.
- Serve as the US subject matter expert (SME) for the global People & Culture Team regarding leaves of absence, time off programs, employment laws and practices, onboarding, off-boarding, and related geographic requirements.
- Collaborate with the Sr. Manager for Talent Acquisition regarding all US-based immigration programs, including verifying and managing I-9s.
- Lead new initiatives and projects for the People & Culture Team as needed, including convening project kickoffs, milestone/progress tracking, developing change management strategies, facilitating rollout/implementation, and completing hindsight evaluations.
Safety & Workers Compensation Programs
- Own our end-to-end US safety program and applicable documentation, including maintenance of our IIPP (OSHA-required Illness & Injury Prevention Program), related programs (Heat-Related Illness Prevention Program, Workplace Violence Prevention Program), and safety page(s) on our SharePoint intranet (Infinite Commerce Central).
- Collaborate with Supply Chain Leadership to establish site-based Safety Committees tasked with creating a safety-first culture while reviewing risks, near misses, and incidents.
- Report, track, and manage all workers' compensation claims, with the goal of returning Team Members to full capacity as quickly as possible.
- Develop relationships with local Occupational Medicine clinics, workers' compensation carriers, and internal stakeholders to effectively manage our workers's compensation risk and policies.
Supply Chain Support Programs
- Own cyclical processes related to our Warehouse Teams (non-exempt populations), such as annual and mid-year performance appraisals, talent assessment, workforce/labor planning, and related processes.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain Leadership and Talent Acquisition (as needed) to manage warehouse staffing programs, including temporary agencies, temporary conversions, direct hires, and pre-employment processes (I.e., background checks, references, drug testing).
- Collaborate with Supply Chain Leadership to build an effective communication program to keep Warehouse Team Members informed of what's happening locally and across the organization through local town halls, morning huddles/startup meetings, bulletin boards (physical & electronic), table talkers, and other programs.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain Leadership to consistently execute a robust time & attendance program and scheduling process, defining clear roles and responsibilities and establishing a scalable process and effective policies.
- Address Warehouse Team Member retention by ensuring Team Members have an exceptional experience and by developing innovative programs, incentives, and resources.
- Work with the People Operations Team to proactively address our Warehouse Team Members' health and welfare needs, ensuring that benefit programs are aligned with their needs.
- Develop and facilitate orientation and compliance training (e.g., safety, harassment, attendance policies)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field. Additional work experience can be substituted for an earned degree on a year-for-year basis.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience as an HR Generalist, and at least two years of experience as an HR Manager support exempt and non-exempt Team Members.
- Well-versed in US Federal, State (CA & GA), and local employment laws governing employee relations practices, payroll, FLSA, etc.
- Knowledge of key areas and best practices in HR.
- Broad HR Generalist skills, including compensation & benefits, payroll, maintaining HRIS, performance management, employee relations, employment laws, etc.
- Ability to speak, read, and write in Spanish.
Preferred Qualifications:
- eCommerce and /or consumer products experience.
- Previous experience working with large hourly (non-exempt) staff in a warehouse, logistics, manufacturing or retail environment.
- HR Certification (i.e., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP).
