The Employee Relations Specialist is responsible for fostering a positive workplace environment through the effective management of employee relations policies, procedures, and practices. This role works closely with the Employee Relations Manager and restaurant operators to address concerns such as harassment, discrimination, and other workplace issues. The Employee Relations Specialist conducts thorough and timely investigations, provides guidance on disciplinary actions, and ensures compliance with employment laws-all while promoting company culture and brand values.

Staff Relations & Investigations
- Conduct thorough, fair, and confidential investigations into employee complaints.
- Document findings and recommend appropriate actions.
- Manage investigative cases efficiently using EthicsPoint or similar tools.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to employee relations.
- Maintain accurate records of all employee relations activities.
Culture & Employee Engagement
- Promote company culture, values, and ethical standards in all interactions.
- Support diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.
- Act as a trusted advisor to employees and management, reinforcing a positive work environment.
What we require:
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in Human Resources, Employee Relations, or Investigations, with strong knowledge of best practices.
- Strong understanding of labor laws and compliance requirements.
- Problem-solving expertise: Ability to analyze issues, develop solutions, and implement resolutions.
- Ability to influence without authority and communicate effectively across all levels.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Self-motivated, well-organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Exceptional discretion, tact, and empathy-demonstrating that "People are our greatest resource."
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including professional report writing.
- Collaborative team player, contributing to group projects and initiatives.
What we prefer:
- Bilingual proficiency (Spanish preferred).
- PHR/SPHR certification.
- Experience in restaurant, retail, or hospitality HR, understanding industry-specific challenges.
