Revolution Medicines is a clinical-stage precision oncology company focused on developing novel targeted therapies to inhibit frontier targets in RAS-addicted cancers. The company's R&D pipeline comprises RAS(ON) Inhibitors designed to suppress diverse oncogenic variants of RAS proteins, and RAS Companion Inhibitors for use in combination treatment strategies. The base salary range for this full-time position is $236,000 to $295,000 for candidates working onsite at our headquarters in Redwood City, CA. The range displayed on each job posting is intended to be the salary for an individual working onsite in Redwood City and will be adjusted for the local market a candidate is based in. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by multiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, market dynamics, and relevant education or training.

The Opportunity:
As a strategic and scientific leader in Biology, you will report into the Vice President and Head of Cancer Pharmacology in Translational Research. This high impact position will:
- Provide strategic and technical leadership to our cross-functional and multi-disciplinary Research and Development project teams in support of continued advancement of our RAS(ON) portfolio.
- Lead efforts to define and develop a vision for combination strategies for RVMD RAS(ON) inhibitors.
- Leverage cross-functional skills to drive alignment and coordination of reverse translation projects, with particular emphasis on resistance modeling, involving multiple groups across the organization.
- Manage a team of PhD and nonPhD pharmacologists with accountability for advancement of preclinical discovery programs from early lead optimization to IND.
- Engage with external partners to advance RVMD business objectives.
- Foster network of academic collaborators.
- Be a critical contributor and provide strong strategic and technical leadership in translation research group and multi-disciplinary research and development project teams with a focus on resistance modeling (reverse translation) and preclinical combination strategy with an indication lens.
- Investigate resistance mechanism to RevMed pipeline compounds in preclinical models and reverse translate findings in clinic to preclinical models to examine the potential significance of those findings.
- Drive combination strategy with pipeline compounds in preclinical settings, working closely with cross-functional teams to inform GO/NO GO decisions.
- Manage a team of talented Cancer Pharmacology scientists in a matrix environment, with the ability to serve as a function rep in cross-functional discovery/development teams.
- Strategic involvement in external partnering and business development efforts. Serve as key scientific liaison for external partnering and academic collaborations.
Required Skills, Experience and Education:
- Ph.D. degree in pharmacology, oncology, cell biology or a related discipline, with 2-5 years of post-doctoral and at least 8-10 years of relevant industry experience in oncology drug discovery and development.
- Strategic thinker with proven leadership skills, prior project team leadership roles would be an advantage. Strong track record of research productivity as evidenced by high-quality, impactful publications
- Deep expertise in cancer pharmacology and oncogenic signaling pathways is important.
- Rigorous, quantitative and detail-oriented experimentalist.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize options, anticipate challenges, and execute on goals as a member of an interdisciplinary team is extremely important.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Thrives in a collaborative team setting and is driven by a desire to be innovative in a high energy, small company environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with external collaborators on both preclinical animal studies and ex vivo PD assays is preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of preclinical modeling, including complex modeling and novel techniques.
