Matching the right people to our top priorities is critical to our success and we want to add a Sr. Quality Engineer to our current team of professionals for our Hydromotion Plant located in Spring City, PA. In this position, strong written and verbal communication skills are key and successful candidate will be able to collaborate with members of other departments on assigned projects and timelines.

Reporting directly to the Director of Quality, this Engineer will work side-by-side with our Customers and Internal teams on iterative process improvement, which will support our world-class quality products. Travel is a necessary component of this role and based on need may swing from 10 to 20% or as business needs arise.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

External Focus:
  • Support our Customers as needed to provide the unparalleled Service and Quality they deserve from Hydromotion.
  • Lead the analysis of Customer complaints using problem solving methodologies such as, but not limited to, 8D's, 5 Why's, Fishbone; and implement corresponding corrective actions.
  • Perform on-site supplier audits of current suppliers for root cause analysis and verification of correction actions of supplier quality issues and to approve new suppliers when required
  • Support new product launches and prototype approvals to ensure Hydromotion meets or exceeds all Customer requirements.
  • Perform on-site Customer visits to rigorously maintain top-tier Quality and Service.


Internal Focus:
  • Work with the CFT (Cross Functional Team) to improve Internal Quality and reduce scrap.
  • Train CFT on problem solving techniques such as, but not limited to, 8D, Fishbone and 5 Whys and Process Control Plan and PFMEA.
  • Create and develop PCP (Process Control Plan) for all internal processes.
  • Develop internal KPIs that support the Company's overall strategy to include, but not limited to, Parts Per Million (PPM), Scrap & COPQ.
  • Develop and maintain KPI's for MRB and RTV functions and ensure processes are diligently followed.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities and in-house events and support DMM (Daily Management Meeting) as required.
  • Support FAI (First Article Inspections) as well as Supplier PPAPs (Production Part Approval Process)
  • Other duties as assigned by Director of Quality.


Education/Training/Skills/Experience:
  • With Bachelor's degree (B. S. Mechanical Eng. preferred) from four-year college or university, must have at least five (5) years related experience; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, print reading and interpretation or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Experience working directly with Customers on optimizing overall Quality.
  • Experience on developing and resolving issues with Suppliers.
  • Experience and Knowledge on ISO9001:2015 std.
  • Demonstrated understanding of principles of Metrology and the applicable Inspection Methods and Equipment used (MSA).
  • Understanding of and ability to apply statistical methods in process assessment, control and problem solving.
  • Prior work experience on problem solving techniques: 8Ds, Fishbone and 5Whys.
  • Prior work experience on developing PCPs and PFMEA.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate with minimal oversight, exercising discretionary authority as required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Works effectively in a team environment, within and outside of the Quality Department.
  • Consistently operates at the highest level of integrity and is never willing to compromise ethical standards.
  • Willingness to travel to Customer & Supplier locations.
  • Proficient in use of MS Office Suite of products to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Access experience is a plus.
  • Prior history working with fabrication, machining, welding, manufacturing/assembly and painting processes is desired.
