We currently have an opportunity for a project engineer to join our Indianapolis, IN office our Civil & Environmental practice. This position is responsible for working within a team that serves municipal and county clients with planning, design and construction services associated with water infrastructure including water distribution, storage and treatment systems, wastewater collection and treatment, stormwater management and all related infrastructure.

Primary Responsibilities
- Provides expertise for multi-discipline public sector engineering projects.
- Serves as a trusted advisor for the Central and Northern Indiana portfolio of public sector clients.
- Collaborates on project pursuits with BD staff and develops relationships with existing clients and prospects.
- Assists with scope and fee negotiations and any contract amendments as needed.
- Ensures QC/QA processes are implemented and followed for all team projects.
- Actively supports the development of staff and works to sustain and grow the team's technical capabilities.
- Active and visible with pertinent technical and trade associations.
- Maintains knowledge and education on technological innovations and regulatory changes that impact the civil/environmental field.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
- B.S. degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering and IN PE license are required.
- 10+ years of experience in Civil/Environmental engineering projects.
- Progressive consulting experience in the planning, design and construction of storm water, wastewater and combined sewer collection, pumping and treatment systems.
- Experience with treatment plant process design and/or wet weather (CSO/SSO) evaluation is a plus.
- Experience with clients in the Indiana public sector (municipal and county) market.
- Ability to effectively pursue new projects and develop/maintain relationships with prospects and existing clients.
- Experience assisting clients with program funding options (user fees, grants, SRF loans process, etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to conduct effective client presentations and prepare written reports.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with other team members from multiple offices.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to client and project sites as needed.
