Position Summary

As the Deputy Director of the Bureau of Information Technology Services, you will play a critical role in executing ETF's IT strategy and ensuring alignment with business goals and statewide technology initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing IT operations including development, Quality Assurance, DevOps, system administration, infrastructure, service desk, and other IT support functions.
  • Supporting enterprise IT planning, staffing, and budgeting in collaboration with the Director/Chief Information Officer.
  • Managing and mentoring subordinate IT supervisors and supporting professional development and training for all Bureau staff.
  • Ensuring IT systems meet industry, agency and statewide standards and policies.
  • Supporting technology governance, audit processes, and system portfolio management.
  • Collaborating with internal leaders and external partners on strategic technology initiatives.
  • Promoting an inclusive, agile, and future-ready IT culture.

Salary Information

This position is in classification Management Information Manager (pay schedule/range 07-01), with an annual salary between $135200 - $144206, plus excellent benefits.

Pay for current and new state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan in effect at the time of appointment.

Job Details

ETF offers hybrid remote/office workIf interested in hybrid remote/office work, this can be discussed in more detail during the interview process. The selected employee(s) must report to ETF's office on the first day of employment. In addition, the employee may need to report to ETF on short notice as operational needs require. All employees are expected to be headquartered and work within the state of Wisconsin.

ETF does not sponsor work visas. Any appointment made will be contingent on the applicant being able to prove valid status to work in the United States.

Qualifications

Minimally Qualified candidates will have experience in all the following :

  • Managing five or more IT staff while serving in a formal IT supervisory role
  • Managing software development, IT service management, infrastructure and system administration, or other IT services across an enterprise
  • Providing oversight or technical leadership to IT projects and strategic initiatives of significant scope (e.g. impacting multiple business areas within a mid to large size organization)
  • Building relationships and collaborating with business and technical unit leaders across an organization

In addition, Highly Qualified candidates will also have experience with some of the following :

  • Developing and managing IT budgets
  • Implementing IT strategy, operating procedures and/or governance
  • Working with modern operating models such as DevOps, Agile, or Product Management
  • Managing IT in a financial or benefits management organization
