The Director of Clinical Operations is responsible for overseeing the daily clinical functions within Primary & Specialty Care. They will also be responsible for the direct oversight of clinical staff including Nurse Managers and indirect oversight of Lead Licensed Practical Nurses, Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Medical Assistants. The Director of Clinical Operations will support the development, implementation, and monitoring of processes that improve procedures and patient throughput.
Position Summary: The Director of Clinical Operations (DOCO) is a key leader responsible for the overall direction, management, and clinical excellence of the nursing department. The DOCO is responsible for recruiting, developing, and retaining a high-performing team of Nurses and Medical Assistants. The DOCO leads the design and implementation of clinical workflows that deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centered care, in collaboration with providers and administrative leadership. Additionally, this person will collaborate with the Director of Practice Operations to ensure adequate access to care and patient flow throughout the clinic sites. The DOCO will report directly to the AVP of Clinical Operations and will directly supervise the Nurse Managers and Clinical Operations Coordinator.
Qualified Candidate will have a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New York State; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is strongly preferred; current BLS certification required; qualified candidate will have at minimum, three (3) years of clinical supervisory experience; candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills; candidate will have strong supervisory and leadership skills, with the ability to prioritize and delegate as appropriate; strong analytical and problem-solving skills necessary; sensitivity to HIV/AIDS, addiction, and LGBT issues is essential.

Required Education/Certification/Experience: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in NYS; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) strongly preferred; BLS certification; minimum of three (3) years of clinical supervisory experience.
Preferred experience: Experience working in an EMR system (Medent) strongly preferred.
