Job Description

At Lifescale Analytics, we help achieve data-driven decision by leveraging strategic technologies to create innovated solutions, that ultimately help our clients to navigate their ever-changing data landscape. We have an opportunity for aSenior Business Intelligence (BI) Developer, prefer candidates to reside in Melbourne, FL but open to remote work in the following states: Florida (FL), Georgia (GA), Minnesota (MN), North Carolina (NC), Ohio (OH), South Carolina (SC), Tennessee (TN), Texas (TX) or Virginia (VA). Note: Relocation expenses are not covered by the employer/client. We are seeking a Senior BI Developer with deep expertise in designing and implementing advanced business intelligence solutions for enterprise and government environments. The ideal candidate has over 16 years of experience in data analytics, data engineering, and business intelligence strategy, including the development of large-scale reporting systems that serve both operational and strategic needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Architect, develop, and manage enterprise-level BI and analytics solutions to support decision-making and performance monitoring
  • Lead BI initiatives, from requirement gathering and data modeling to dashboard/report development and deployment
  • Work with large, complex datasets from multiple sources, ensuring data integrity, governance, and security
  • Design and implement efficient ETL/ELT pipelines and optimize data warehousing solutions
  • Partner with business users, technical teams, and government stakeholders to translate business goals into data-driven insights
  • Ensure compliance with federal data standards and regulatory frameworks such as FISMA, NIST, and FedRAMP
  • Mentor junior developers and contribute to long-term BI strategy and tool selection
  • Provide thought leadership on the use of BI to improve operational effectiveness and policy outcomes
  • Additional responsibilities as the manager/PM or client request


Job Requirements

Qualifications:
  • 16+ years of experience in BI development, data analytics, or related roles
  • Deep proficiency in BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or similar
  • Strong experience with SQL, data modeling, and ETL frameworks
  • Background working on government contracts or in highly regulated data environments
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing complex projects and cross-functional collaboration
  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse, Snowflake)
  • Experience with data governance, metadata management, and data quality frameworks
  • Familiarity with scripting or automation tools (e.g., Python, PowerShell)
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices
  • Excellent communication and data storytelling skills
  • Willingness to travel as needed
  • Ability to acquire a Secret Security clearance and acquire and maintain government identification/common access card (CAC). Preferred if candidates currently hold an active Secret Security Clearance or higher
  • Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract. Note that any usage and detection of cannabis with or without a prescription will result in a failed clearance regardless of the legalization under State Laws.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to security clearance requirements.


Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field (Master's preferred)


Additional Provisions:
  • Candidate must have lived in the United States for the past 5 years.
  • Cannot have more than 6 months' travel outside the United States within the last five years. Military Service excluded. (Exception does not include military family members.)
