Overview
Copley Hospital, a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital located in Morrisville/Stowe, VT is seeking a Director of Radiology. Responsible for the leadership of the radiology and medical/diagnostic imaging services, the Director of Radiology furthers the mission of Copley Hospital by providing high quality services to patients and colleagues. Working collaboratively with medical providers, colleagues, senior administration, and clinical leadership, as well as allied departments is essential for this position.
The Director of Radiology is responsible for ensuring that the quality, patient satisfaction, capital, and financial goals of the department are achieved. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leadership in a radiology/imaging environment with a minimum of five (5) years of experience. Professional certification (ARRT, NMTCB, or ADRMS) is required.
This is a Full-Time position (PT available).

Responsibilities
Operational Leadership:
- Direct daily operations of radiology services including diagnostic imaging, interventional radiology, MRI, CT, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, and mammography.
- Develop and implement departmental policies, procedures, and standards of care.
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels, workflow optimization, and productivity benchmarks are achieved.
Strategic Planning & Development:
- Lead strategic initiatives to expand radiology services, adopt new technologies, and improve patient access.
- Collaborate with executive leadership on service line development and capital planning.
- Monitor industry trends and propose innovative solutions to improve service delivery and efficiency.
Financial Management:
- Develop and manage the department's operational and capital budgets.
- Monitor financial performance, identify areas for cost reduction, and improve revenue capture.
- Oversee equipment procurement, service contracts, and vendor relationships.
Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance:
- Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including Joint Commission, ACR accreditation, and HIPAA.
- Implement quality assurance and improvement programs to ensure patient safety and high standards of diagnostic imaging.
- Monitor clinical outcomes and participate in performance improvement initiatives.
Leadership & Staff Development:
- Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate radiology personnel including technologists, administrative staff, and managers.
- Promote a culture of accountability, professional development, and continuous learning.
- Conduct regular staff meetings, performance reviews, and mentoring initiatives.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Foster strong relationships with physicians, nursing staff, and other departments to ensure integrated care delivery.
- Represent the radiology department in hospital committees and leadership forums.
- Respond to patient concerns or complaints in a timely and professional manner.
Qualifications
- Minimum five (5) years of supervisory/management experience. Must be self-motivated with the ability to direct and manage a diverse group of employees.
- Certified technologist with current eligibility for State of Vermont licensure. Registry with a national modality (ARRT, NMTCB, or ADRMS) is required.
