Position Summary
In accordance with the Tampa Family Health Center policies and procedures, the OB/GYN Physician works to provide quality Women's Health Care to the patients of Tampa Family Health Centers. The position will work collaboratively with members of the nursing, medical staff, and other outside partners.
Essential Duties & Functions
Provides care for patients in a patient centered mode, commensurate with training, experience, and clinic needs, to include well-woman visits, acute visits, family planning, etc.
Participates in accreditation agency on-going readiness.
Participates in Peer Review and all relevant Quality Assessment/Quality Improvement activities, as assigned.
Provides clinical oversight and support as needed to nursing staff and medical assistants in
collaboration with the other Women's Health providers and Clinical Administration.
Engage with community partners, as needed.
Provide evidence-based care for low and moderate risk Obstetrical patients in an outpatient setting.
Provide evidence based in-office gynecological care & services: annual gyn visits, contraception, standard gyn complaints, perimenopausal & menopausal care, insertion of LARC devices, colposcopy, gyn biopsies.
Maintains timely and accurate electronic health record documentation on all patients including office visits, telephone calls, and hospital admissions/visits, if applicable.
Prepares timely and accurate billing charges; completes and closes tasks within company policy.
Makes appropriate referrals to other health facilities for further testing, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care.
Supervision and teaching of residents, medical students, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, midwives, and other allied health professionals, as assigned.
May be required to work in multiple locations
Participate in 24-hour telephone/afterhours coverage, if assigned or established
There is no hospital rounding, delivery or surgery.
Coordinates and expedites clinical operations within the OB department.
Works closely with Women's Health providers and support staff.
Utilizes a critical thinking approach to problem solve and make decisions.
Identifies and evaluates operational clinical needs and resolves concerns
Follows all clinical protocols
Communicate with patients and staff in a pleasant and courteous manner.
Possess interpersonal skills to interact effectively across roles, teams and departments.
Must exercise a high degree of professional judgment within the scope of licensure.

Required Education, Certifications, Licenses, & Training
Attendance and graduation from an accredited medical school
Attendance and graduation form an accredited residency program
Current BLS certification
Current and valid State of Florida Medical License
Current and valid DEA Registration Certificate
Board Certified or Board Eligible in OBGYN. If Board Eligible, certification to be obtained within (3) years of employment
Required Years of Experience
Minimum 2 years of relevant outpatient OBGYN clinical experience
Required Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities
Current State of Florida medical license
Minimum 2 years of relevant outpatient OBGYN clinical experience
Bilingual a plus
Demonstrates technological literacy in using computerized information systems, prior EPIC experience a plus
Proficient in basic computer skills such as Microsoft office products and data entry
