Job Summary
The Griffin Facility is home to a diverse product portfolio, where we work together to produce engines such as the C27, C32, 3408 and 3412 diesel and gas engines as well as power systems including generators and power modules. The EHS Manager will provide leadership, mentoring, and direction to hourly, salaried and management personnel engaged in Environmental, Health, and/or Safety (EHS) activities related to a median to large facility.

What you will do:
  • Identifies common and more complex safety/health/environmental hazards inherent in the organizations operations and establishes robust controls for protection from those hazards.
  • Develop and implement safety/health/environmental change management strategies and plans in line with the revised Corporate Safety Strategy
  • Engage with stakeholders at all levels and across different divisions to ensure safety/health/environmental Collaboration at the Griffin campus
  • Ensures EHS training is completed to comply with regulatory requirements or in support of facility, division, or enterprise objectives.
  • Ensure safety/health/environmental programs are compliant with company standards, government regulations, and adequacy relative to local conditions.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in safety/health/environmental
  • Monitors periodic performance reports for trends and conditions, alerts line management to problems and makes recommendations for improvement.

  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Extensive knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Interpersonal Relationships: Extensive knowledge of the techniques and the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
  • Overcoming Resistance to Change: Extensive understanding and insight into the futility of refusing to accept the inevitable and ability to overcome resistance and adapt to a complex and changing environment.
  • Problem Solving: Extensive knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Policy Compliance: Extensive knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies; ability to implement EHS policies to ensure that provided products and services are safe for people and the environment and in compliance with legal requirements and standards.

Summary Pay Range:
$126,000.00 - $189,000.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
