We have an opportunity for aData Engineer, prefer candidates to reside in Melbourne, FL but open to remote work in the following states: Florida (FL), Georgia (GA), Minnesota (MN), North Carolina (NC), Ohio (OH), South Carolina (SC), Tennessee (TN), Texas (TX) or Virginia (VA). Note: Relocation expenses are not covered by the employer/client. We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer with 6-8 years of experience to design, build, and optimize data pipelines and infrastructure supporting mission-critical analytics, particularly in government and regulated environments. This role will focus on large-scale data processing, integration, and delivery, ensuring high performance and compliance across cloud and on-premise platforms.

Responsibilities:
- Design and develop scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and delivering large volumes of structured and unstructured data
- Work with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) to build and optimize data storage and processing frameworks
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to ensure data availability and integrity
- Support data warehouse and data lake initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals and compliance standards
- Maintain and improve existing data infrastructure, implementing automation and monitoring as needed
- Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and regulatory requirements, especially in government projects
- Create and maintain technical documentation for data workflows, systems, and integrations
- Additional responsibilities as the manager/PM or client request
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- 6-8 years of experience in data engineering or a similar role
- Hands-on experience working with large datasets and high-throughput data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Kafka)
- Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Scala)
- Experience with cloud-native data services (e.g., AWS Glue, Redshift, Azure Data Factory, BigQuery)
- Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL best practices, and pipeline orchestration
- Experience with government systems or contracts, and knowledge of data privacy/compliance frameworks (e.g., FISMA, FedRAMP, NIST)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with data cataloging, lineage, and metadata management tools
- Background in supporting analytics, BI, or machine learning platforms
- Willingness to travel as needed
- Ability to acquire a Secret Security clearance and acquire and maintain government identification/common access card (CAC). Preferred if candidates currently hold an active Secret Security Clearance or higher
- Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract. Note that any usage and detection of cannabis with or without a prescription will result in a failed clearance regardless of the legalization under State Laws.
- U.S. Citizenship is required due to security clearance requirements.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
Additional Provisions:
