Job Description
Shift: Work Monday to Friday 8:30 to 5:00 pm
Description:
Maintains system for documenting information in an individuals' medical record. Documents appropriate information on diet history, food intake, caloric and other nutrient requirements, drug-nutrient interaction, and existing disease states.
Utilizes appropriate computer support applications and maintains necessary databases to ensure appropriate care and service.
Participates as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team
Teaches nutrition group classes during the work week and occasionally on rotating weekend schedule*
Communicates and collaborates with medical providers regarding patient's individualized nutrition needs
Ensure the integration of cultural, religious and ethnic foods in the planning and delivery of balanced meals for culturally diverse patients
Provide nutrition education to patients, families and staff
Monitors patient food and fluid intake at meals
Participate in committees and taskforces as assigned
Providing remote weekend on-call coverage on a rotating schedule*
Requirements:
Current certification in New York State as a Certified Dietitian/Nutritionist OR maintains current registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics as a Registered Dietitian. Continued employment as a Dietitian 2 is dependent upon the maintenance of current certification/registration. Loss of registration will result in removal from employment.
