What We're Looking For

Cross River is seeking a highly motivated, organized, detail-oriented candidate to lead the Digital Asset Customer Due Diligence (CDD) Team. You will be acting as a point of escalation and subject matter expert when it comes to all things related to the onboarding, due diligence and reporting of Digital Asset customers. You will work collaboratively with other members of the AML/CFT & OFAC Compliance team, as well as cross-functional stakeholders including but not limited to Legal, Product, Engineering, Data Science, etc. You will be expected to complete ad-hoc customer reviews, and support projects, as necessary, to help create innovative and scalable processes and systems.

Job Summary: The CDD Digital Asset Onboarding Lead will be responsible for overseeing the customer due diligence (CDD) processes related to digital asset onboarding. This role involves managing customer onboarding, risk rating, and periodic review cases to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Responsibilities:
  • Day-to-day management and review of customer onboarding, customer risk rating, and periodic review cases.
  • Develop and implement robust customer risk rating methodologies.
  • Continuously assess and update risk profiles based on business activities, regulatory changes, and internal policies.
  • Ensure alignment and implementation of all CDD processes and requirements, including proper assessment of customer identification documents, retention, and record-keeping.
  • Manage third-party vendors for KYC, IDV, PEP, and sanction screening as required for the support of the Digital Asset team.
  • Leverage technology and analytics to optimize the efficiency of CDD processes.
  • Partner with tech teams to improve tools, automation, and reporting capabilities.
  • Design, develop, and maintain policies, procedures, and other governance documentation for customer due diligence and related topics.
  • Oversee tools and systems for diligence-related processes, including customer onboarding, risk rating, and periodic review.
  • Balance compliance requirements with a seamless customer experience, working closely with customer support and business teams to resolve escalations.
  • Ensure that regulatory examinations, reporting, and inquiries related to customer due diligence are handled appropriately and promptly.
  • Monitor, track, and report on key CDD performance metrics.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management for continuous improvement.
  • Develop and track action plans across regulatory initiatives related to customer due diligence program areas.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Law, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in customer due diligence, compliance, or a related area.
  • Strong understanding of digital asset management practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with KYC, IDV, PEP, and sanction screening processes.
  • Proficiency in using technology and analytics to optimize processes.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the cryptocurrency or digital asset industry.
  • Advanced degree or certification in compliance or a related field.
  • Familiarity with blockchain technology and digital asset management tools.

Salary Range: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00
