What You'll Be Doing:
- Serve as the go-to expert for diagnosing and resolving advanced equipment issues, including servo drives, PLC systems (especially Siemens), and process control technologies.
- Lead the design, upgrade, and integration of control systems to improve output efficiency and product quality.
- Coordinate with planners on preventive maintenance strategies and upcoming work scopes.
- Oversee electrical and automation-related schematics, ensuring all documentation is current and accurate.
- Provide real-time technical support-both on-site and remotely-to ensure operations run smoothly around the clock.
- Collaborate with external vendors and internal teams to execute solutions, support capital projects, and minimize downtime.
- Analyze recurring issues, implement root-cause solutions, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Train and mentor junior technicians, creating a culture of technical excellence and knowledge sharing.
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment.
- A minimum of 10 years working specifically with PLC-based systems (Siemens expertise strongly preferred).
- Deep understanding of servo drives and various process control systems.
- A two-year technical degree in automation, electrical engineering, or a related discipline.
- Advanced Siemens programming knowledge (Level 3) with proven ability using Sematic Manager, TIA Portal, and WinCC.
- Strong familiarity with Lenze and SEW drives, vision systems, and Allen Bradley (AB) controls.
- Capable of programming HMI interfaces and troubleshooting network communications like Profibus, Profinet, DeviceNet, and Ethernet.
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools including VOMs and meggers.
- A production floor that can reach high heat and noise levels-requiring focus, stamina, and adherence to safety protocols.
- An environment that values self-driven individuals who take initiative and solve problems independently.
- A team-oriented workplace where clear communication and respect across departments are essential.
- Day shift schedule, Monday-Friday (with flexibility for call-ins as needed).
- Travel for training may be required.
- Must be comfortable reading schematics, lifting equipment, and working in hot, dusty conditions.
