As the Sr. Product Design Manager on our Pokmon plastics team, you will manage the successful design and development of assigned licensed products while demonstrating creative thinking and innovation on a wide variety of projects to support and align with brand strategies and objectives. Working closely with internal cross-functional departments and external partners, you will be tasked to deliver innovative and exciting toy product(s) that are fun to play with! Additionally, you will manage junior design staff as well as external vendors to keep product designs on schedule and within budget. Being an effective coach and mentor to your design team will be key to this role.

The salary range for this position is $100,000.00 - 110,000.00/Yr. The base salary may vary based on experience, role tenure, performance, industry, and location. What you will do
- Manage projects through the entire design, development, and QC/QA processes, being conscientious of cost, quality, and schedule
- Manage external vendor partnerships
- Prioritize and manage multiple projects within design specifications
- Work collaboratively with your branding, product management, engineering, packaging, licensing, and other internal and external team partners to create innovative product
- Generate new toy concepts to enhance the brand
- Responsible for completing, reviewing, submitting, and providing comments for Illustrative turns, 3D sculpts, paint masters, and sample reviews
- Support the overall strategic goals of product within a brand, providing direction and feedback during the development process that is attentive to licensor and internal brand needs
- Successfully evolve from concept through initial ideation, refinement, prototype execution,n and turn over packages to development teams
- Champion great design in our products and help assure they are within target cost and QA/QC requirements with very little supervision
- Collaborate closely and provide continuous feedback to internal cross-functional departments during all phases of development
- Develop product documentation and specifications sheets to send to the Asia team for development
- Provide support to the Senior leadership team
- Prepare and lead meetings, track schedules, and manage action items for the team
- Act as a trainer, mentor, and coach for our staff members
- Foster a constructive and motivating team dynamic where the team feels supported and confident in having open conversations with you as their manager
- Lead the team by example and ensure that time and attention are spent with the individual members for proper training and mentoring as well as for career growth/pathing discussions
- Provide clear support and direction to your team so they have clear objectives and a runway to execute their jobs effectively and efficiently
- Manage project assignments and resource allocation

What we are looking for
- Bachelor's Degree in toy design, industrial design, industrial engineering, or an industry-relevant field preferred
- 5+ years of experience in product design with a focus on toys, collectibles, POP culture, and Consumer Products
- 5+ years of experience working with global manufacturing factories (Asia preferred)
- 3+ years of leadership experience
- Experience working with licensed brands
- Compelling portfolio of work over a wide range of product creative projects
- Strong visual, verbal, and written communication skills
- Knowledge of materials and multiple manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of working with Asia factories
- Knowledge of working with licensed brands
- Ability to wear multiple hats for design
- Demonstrate a strong design sense and problem-solving skills
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office & G-Suite
- Expertise in control drawings and rendered illustration of concepts
- Strong proficiency in adobe creative suite (illustrator, photoshop, and indesign) and other graphic design software
- Leadership skills: able to train, coach, mentor, motivate, inspire and develop others
- High level of autonomy and resourcefulness
- Process and efficiency driven
- Exceptional presentation skills; must be comfortable presenting to members at all levels of the organization and at industry events
