Director, Fresh Food Finance and Operations

The Director of Fresh Food Finance and Operations is responsible for accelerating fresh foods growth through strategic oversight of the fresh food business system (Bakery and Commissary) to elevate the products being manufactured each day. This role will be a key partner with our bakeries and commissaries to understand their operational and financial performance and the impact to our cost of goods. Reporting into Fresh Food merchandising leadership, this role will also support the team in understanding overall business performance and key opportunities. Additionally, you will also work cross functionally to develop and scale the food manufacturing network of the future to further elevate our food offering and customer experience.

This role is 100% onsite at our headquarters in Irving, Texas.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Fresh Food Business System Management: Lead team managing 29 third-party partners producing Bakery and Commissary assortment 365 days a year for 8,500 stores (410M units, $390M expense). Strategic oversight of daily production, forecasting, operational opportunities, crisis management & problem solving to ensure that our stores receive a stable supply of high-quality products every day. Act as a central point of contact between value chain stakeholders, commissary/bakeries, and Fresh Food merchandising teams in regard to production and supply.

• Bakery and Commissary Contract and Financial Management: Set the direction for partner contracts and the current quarterly Financial Review process to create simplicity while positively impacting key business success metrics. Lead the quarterly auditing of all partner financials to ensure the enterprise is receiving the optimal cost of goods for our stores. Manage the quarterly cost and price changes for all commissaries and bakeries.

• Fresh Foods Financial Analysis: Support the overall Fresh Foods team with reporting and analysis of routine business performance, including sales, margin, write-offs and profitability. Determine drivers of change in performance and support team to understand and analyze root causes.

• Owned Facility Management: Directly manage operations of 3 facilities (2 OKC, 1 MN) supporting 350+ stores with daily Bakery and Commissary Assortment (44M Units and $22M Expense).

• Value Chain Expansion Support: Support the Food Value Chain team with commissary operations expertise in partnership with international business partners to construct facilities that support the company's future growth aspirations. This includes enhancing manufacturing capabilities to produce high-quality, differentiated products driven by customer insights and demand.

• Fresh Food Replenishment: Be the primary point of contact for issues with non-wholesale replenishment needs, including collaborating between suppliers, distribution and operations to ensure stores have a consistent supply of products for customers.

• Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing team with an emphasis on excellence and accountability to our internal and external customers on a daily basis.Setting clear, achievable and measurable goals and stretch goals for the team to be able to challenge the status quo and win together.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree highly preferred in Finance, Business, Merchandising or relevant studies
• 10+ years of relevant work experience to include 5+ years of leading teams
• Strong P&L understanding and financial analytical skills
• Expertise in analyzing manufacturing processes, lean manufacturing (work flow, labor, yield, overhead etc.) and logistics
• Experience in developing, negotiating and overseeing contracts, leases and food manufacturing design
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Experience managing cross-functional teams and driving collaboration across departments
• Demonstrated progressive experience in roles requiring influence and negotiation with internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively
• Travel 25%
