Elevates the science of nursing through scholarly contributions to position WellSpan Health (WSH) as a leader in nursing clinical excellence, research and innovation.

Responsibilities
- Oversees and supports as a catalyst for change in nursing and inter-professional practice through quality improvement, evidence-based, research, innovation and dissemination.
- Ensures that evidence-based practices, programs, and policies are effectively integrated into the WellSpan Health care settings, particularly in nursing and patient care.
- Investigates and evaluates various implementation strategies (e.g., training programs, audit and feedback, incentives, peer support) to identify the most effective methods for promoting the adoption and use of evidence-based practices.
- Identifies and addresses barriers to implementation (e.g., lack of resources, staff resistance, organizational culture) and fostering facilitators (e.g., leadership support, clear communication, training) that promote successful implementation.
- Assesses the effectiveness of implementation strategies by measuring factors such as adoption rates, fidelity to the intervention, sustainability of the change, and impact on patient outcomes.
- Provides education and consultation in EBP process, research design, and statistical analysis regarding scientific and ethical standards, methods and specialized techniques to maximize scientific integrity and protection of the safety and welfare of human subjects.
- Co-coordinates the WSH Scholarly and Designation Support Center, along with System Nursing Excellence Team, to support data-driven initiatives focused on nursing excellence and organizational performance.
- Oversees EBP and Nursing Research fellowship and training programs.
- Advises the WellSpan System Nursing Professional Governance Innovate Subcouncil.
- Facilitates and/or leads system teams addressing system goals using evidence-based practices, including work associated with ANCC Magnet and Pathway designations.
- Works collaboratively with nurses, healthcare professionals, administrators, and researchers to understand the context of implementation, tailor strategies, and ensure successful integration of new practices.
- Conducts research, analyzes data, and disseminates findings to inform implementation strategies and improve healthcare delivery.
- Promotes cooperation and communication among all team members. Seeks opportunities to assist coworkers without compromising individual responsibilities. Gives feedback to team members about unique strengths and contributions. Consistently interacts with others in a manner that is perceived to be positive and supportive.
- Displays conflict resolution and negotiation skills to maximize team performance. Provides feedback in a positive and respectful way. Aware of and investigates events that led to conflict; recommends preventative measures or solutions.
Common Expectations:
- Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of the assigned patient population. Assesses and interprets patient age specific data and assists the clinical nurse to provide appropriate, age specific treatment.
- Demonstrates a commitment to patient, visitor and staff by: complying with all applicable safety regulations; learning the impact of medical errors and methodology that will lead to reduction of errors; reporting actual and potential errors, as well as hazardous conditions; identifying opportunities to standardize processes and "error proof" systems that will lead to increased safety; and participating in safety education programs and root cause analyses as required.
- Enhances professional growth and development through advanced/continuing education to maintain up-to-date knowledge, skills, and competencies.
- Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
- Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
- Master's degree in nursing or related field. If master's degree is not in nursing, must have a Bachelor of Science in nursing required
- Doctorate PhD, DNP; must enroll in accredited program within 1 year of hire date if not already earned Preferred
Work Experience:
- 7 years' experience as RN required
Licenses:
- Licensed Registered Nurse Upon Hire required or
- Registered Nurse Multi State License Upon Hire required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- A solid foundation in research methods, including quantitative and qualitative research designs, data analysis, and statistical knowledge
- A strong understanding of the key concepts, theories, and frameworks of implementation science, including the various implementation strategies and evaluation methods
