The Missile Space & Payload Engineering (MS&PE) Talent Center Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GN&C) team is made up of enthusiastic and talented individuals that design and produce the hardware, algorithms, and software required to solve the challenging problems of controlling these systems in a harsh, zero-g environment. This Hardware Manager position reports to the Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Talent Center Senior Manager within the MS&PE organization. The leader in this role places specific emphasis on common products and processes. The manager must be capable of leading common product efforts and Certified Principle Engineers (CPEs) throughout the Enterprise, including Military Space, Special Programs, Commercial, and Civil Space. In addition to performing manager functions, the role includes CPE responsibilities for a subset of common products, including GN&C actuators and sensors (IMUs, star trackers). The role will support and advocate for Common Products adoption, develop hardware roadmaps, and work with suppliers on existing hardware portfolios and new technologies/offerings.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or other related engineering degree with a minimum of 7 years experience
Working knowledge of basic GNC hardware products, GNC systems, and operation
Current/Previous experience working with subcontractor hardware development, including build, test, and integration
Previous experience presenting to senior management, as well as, customer team members.
Demonstrated ability to lead, especially engineers with diverse backgrounds across multiple geographic locations.
Leadership skills and behaviors that align with Full Spectrum leadership (FSL) imperatives.
Ability to travel to support job duties listed above.
Willingness to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI Clearance

Desired skills
Currently possess an active TS/ SCI Clearance
Master's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or other related engineering degree with at least 7 years of experience
Current/Previous experience delivering hardware as a CPE for GNC or Avionics.
Experience leading hardware build, test, and integration efforts
Experience with GNC Common Products and Processes
Experience with the LM400 and/or LM2100 platforms
Experience with multiple Space Systems Programs and LOBs
Working knowledge of GNC Actuators and Sensors for Space Applications
Experience with proposal writing and GEN BOE
Experience with RPO hardware

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $139,600 - $246,100. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.

Premium Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $160,500 - $278,300. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
