POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the overall planning, management, and evaluation of the nursing care and support services to achieve safe, effective, high quality patient care, a high level of employee engagement, and patient satisfaction. Serves as a mentor to the Nurse Clinic Managers and other direct reports.
POSTION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelors of Science in Nursing preferred
Experience: 5 years as an RN in Ambulatory Care, Public/ Community Health, and/or hospital setting. Three (3) years prior management experience in Ambulatory Care, Public/Community Health and/or hospital setting.
Skills and Abilities (which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly, associated with this position):
Strong clinical knowledge and experience. Strong computer skills, including the use of excel, spreadsheets, email software, and databases. Excellent oral and verbal communication skills. Excellent administrative and interpersonal skills. Strong ability to work with a diverse team. Strong analytical skills and ability to write reports based on data from various sources. Ability to function as role model and motivate employees. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to work under high pressure conditions.
Transportation Requirement: Must possess a valid driver's license and automobile with insurance coverage as required by the State of Missouri.
License(s)/Certificate(s): Licensed as RN in the State of Missouri, CPR.
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
Essential Functions
Promotes culture of inclusivity, equality, collaboration, and excellence in the provision of leadership and oversight of the clinic operations, and employees. Collaborates and reports directly to the Vice President, Chief Operations Officer. Responsible for the planning, organizing, development, management, and evaluation of the clinical operations of the health center site, providing direct supervision to clinical support staff and acting as a liaison between Vice President, Chief Operations Officer. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, orientation, and supervision of clinical and non-clinical staff for the health center clinical areas. Evaluates processes and identifies opportunities for improvement. Collaborates with other teams to improve patient quality care, health initiatives, and improved patient health outcomes. Utilizes resources wisely while maintaining adequate staffing levels for clinical care. Monitors employees documented time, attendance, identifies staffing fluctuations, and provides support as needed in the clinic. Monitors and assures that all nursing and support staff remain in compliance for required training, including but not limited to annual influenza vaccination, PPD testing, CPR certification. Evaluates the performance of direct reports, coaches/counsels employees when needed, and completes annual evaluation on direct reports. Performs routine audits, utilizes data management, and reporting systems to evaluate programs, services, productivity, compliance with policy and procedures, and regulatory standards. Actively participates in the development and implementation of policies and procedures and updating and educating employees. Collaborate, coach, and share resources with Clinic Managers at other Health Center sites. Performs the duties of a Nurse Coordinator during Perform other duties as assigned by Vice President/Chief Operations Officer.
Marginal Functions:
Actively participate in several committees to improve patient care i.e., Safety, Quality Improvement, and workplace engagement and retention. Participate in evaluating and planning for existing and new services. Support compliance of all regulatory standards. Contribute to the implementation / evaluation of Care Standards as specified by the established regulatory bodies and Quality Improvement Performs the duties of a Nurse Coordinator during staffing shortages
Supervises: Clinic Nurse Coordinators, Clinic Nurse Facilitators, Medical Assistants, Health Center Support Clerks, Health Center Receptionists, Clinical Assistants, and Vaccine Coordinator.
