The Principle Network Engineer will lead and mentor a team of network engineers to design, implement, and maintain network solutions that meet business needs. The Principle Network Engineer is responsible for troubleshooting and resolving complex network issues, ensuring network stability and performance. They will manage and administer company-wide WAN and LANs, including primary and secondary Data Center LANs, and oversee the management of Fortinet Firewalls, Cisco Switch/Router infrastructure, and Aruba Wireless infrastructure. The role also includes monitoring network performance, maintaining device configurations, and presenting changes to improve network performance. Additionally, the individual will coordinate with external vendors, contribute to budget forecasting, ensure network security, and maintain professional growth through continuing education and certification.
Salary: $145,000

- Network Design & Architecture: Develop and implement scalable, secure, and reliable network solutions that align with business objectives.
- Team Leadership: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the network engineering team. Oversee projects and ensure timely delivery.
- Troubleshooting & Optimization: Proactively identify and resolve network performance issues. Optimize network efficiency and reliability.
- Security Management: Implement and maintain robust network security protocols to protect against cyber threats.
- Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with external vendors and partners to evaluate and integrate new technologies.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations and processes. Report on network performance metrics regularly.
- Routing Protocols, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS.
- Strong understanding of WAN, TCP/IP, TCP, VPNs, and IT Security best practices .
- Project Management.
- Cloud Services such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity.
- Documentation Management.
- Ownership and administration, monitoring, and maintenance of company-wide WAN and LANs and primary and secondary Data Center LANs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, ensuring network stability and performance.
- Management of Fortinet Firewalls at Corp Data Centers and Field locations.
- Manages Cisco Switch/Router/ infrastructure within Microsoft Active Directory environment.
- Manages, monitors and deploys Aruba Wireless infrastructure, including working with Aruba Central and ClearPass Policy Manager.
- Monitoring network performance and identifying areas for improvement.
- Maintains Device configurations using WhatsUpGold.
- Isolates problem trends and ensures that troubleshooting efforts are completed for recurring problems while recommending permanent solutions to implement.
- Map and Maintain network topology, including locations, equipment, circuits and carriers.
- Present changes and designs to improve network performance, future-proofing wherever possible.
- Maintain Network Infrastructure - Including procurement, hardening configuration, maintenance, and disposal of assets according to policy.
- Identify network needs and present proposals to Manager and Director.
- Work closely with PMO to design and implement reliable, manageable, and secure solutions for new projects.
- Take Lead in project planning, bid preparation, site surveys, and coordination and execution.
- Recommend, test and evaluate IT vendor products. Recommend vendor selections and new network architecture.
- Coordinate with external vendors and tech support to resolve any software/hardware issues.
- Contribute to budget forecasting as it relates to future network needs in a cost-effective manner to avoid waste of resources without jeopardizing quality of care and service.
- Responsible for ensuring the security of the network infrastructure, implementing security measures and responding to security incidents.
- Maintain competency and enhances professional growth and development through continuing education, certifications and conferences.
- Continuous improvement through knowledge of latest technologies.
- Communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- On-call during off-peak hours to respond to incidents and outages, as needed for 24/7 locations.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Network Operations Manager.
