Job Summary and Qualifications

Under the direction of the Vice President, Nursing Excellence, the Assistant Vice President will lead the overall nursing research strategy and be responsible for the growth and development of the Nursing Research program. The Assistant Vice President of Nursing Research is responsible for developing, growing, implementing and enhancing the HCA nursing research model in partnership with all other HCA research entities, and for creating a professional practice environment that drives efficient and high quality care. The Assistant Vice President is also responsible for developing a model for fostering nursing research and evidence based practice at HCA Healthcare.

The Assistant Vice President of Nursing Research will provide direct leadership and oversight to the Directors of Nursing Research and is responsible and accountable for developing and growing relationships with HCA Service/business lines and strategic partnerships across HCA Healthcare, community partners and all affiliates to support HCA Healthcare's mission for improving patient outcomes and advancing nursing research through innovation and clinical research. He/She/They will have a strong partnership and affiliation with all other HCA research entities in ensuring successful integration of nursing practice and science within healthcare research.

The Assistant Vice President of Nursing Research has broad experience in research and evidence based practice (EBP). She/he/they will have broad expertise in nursing practice science, analytics, teaching, leadership and management skills.

The Assistant Vice President of Nursing Research will lead and coordinate key initiatives for the corporate nursing research program and teams across the enterprise on abstract development, poster/podium presentations to local, regional, state, national and international conferences/symposiums in partnership with all other HCA research entities.

The AVP plays a key role in the HCA Healthcare's journey to elevating Magnet and Pathways status designation/re-designation efforts through strong partnership with the Directors of Nursing Excellence and other key entities.

Major Responsibilities:
Provide leadership in the organization and development of nursing and transdisciplinary research programs within HCA Healthcare and all of its affiliates.
Create and develop the overall nursing research strategy.
Lead the growth and maintenance of existing and new partnerships with key strategic partners to ensure a robust pipeline of research studies and opportunities for nursing research.
Leads efforts to develop relationships with external strategic partners
Leads nursing research service/business lines and program development
Leads the program to be critical liaisons between service/business lines, finance, clinical research, and nursing leadership.
Represents the overall nursing research to external partners to develop new opportunities and optimize existing partner relationships
Identification of critical areas for growth and/or improvement within nursing research that will better enable growth and the delivery of nursing research studies
Lead the establishment and maintenance of the ethical and legal conduct of research.
Collaborates with transdisciplinary teams in the design, implementation, and evaluation of research in the clinical setting.
Practicing and adhering to the "Code of Conduct" philosophy and "Mission Statement"

Education & Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required
PhD or DNP required
10+ years of experience in clinical or nursing research required
3+ years of experience in a leadership role required
Registered Nurse - Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in

the state in which he or she practices, in accordance with law and regulation. required
Publication Experience required
