As a Data Governance Lead, your day will be filled with opportunities to ensure that data within the organization is properly cataloged, maintained, and analyzed for quality. They will act as a subject matter expert for data governance practices, including metadata management, data quality assessments, and data stewardship. This role will help the organization improve the discoverability, reliability, and security of its data, ensuring compliance with data governance standards and contributing to the success of various business units.

Responsibilities
Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Implement and oversee data governance practices and policies, including data quality, data security, and compliance with regulatory requirements
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive metadata management strategy to ensure data is well-documented and easily discoverable
- Conduct data quality assessments and implement processes for data validation, cleansing, and monitoring to ensure data accuracy and reliability
- Act as a lead data steward, ensuring data is properly cataloged, maintained, and accessible to the correct roles within the organization
- Work closely with data analysts, data engineers, and business stakeholders to gather requirements, prioritize initiatives, and deliver data solutions that meet business governance needs
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for data governance policies, data models, governance training programs and data processes
- Monitor and analyze the performance of data governance initiatives to ensure they meet business objectives, user expectations and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with data stewards from different departments to resolve data-related issues, ensuring alignment with the organization's data governance and data quality frameworks
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive continuous improvement and innovation in data governance
Job Requirements
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business Administration or related field
- Proven experience in data governance or product management roles, with a track record of developing and implementing comprehensive data governance frameworks and policies
- Expertise in managing data products, creating robust data catalogs, and implementing data governance practices, including data quality assurance, validation, and cleansing processes
- Experience leading enterprise-wide data governance and stewardship initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and facilitating governance adoption across business and IT stakeholders
- Proven data stewardship skills, including managing data catalogs, ensuring data accessibility to appropriate roles, and resolving data-related issues in collaboration with data stewards from different departments
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a history of working closely with data analysts, data engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver data solutions that meet business needs
- Highly motivated, self-starter with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Track record of working autonomously with organizational and time management skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality and meeting deadlines
- Enjoy supporting team members by sharing technical knowledge and helping solve problems
- Ability to develop and follow documented policies and procedures to ensure proper compliance
- Strong technical acumen and decision-making skills
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues efficiently

- Ability to work flexible work schedules, after-hours as required
- Professional verbal and written communication skills
