Job Summary

In conjunction with the CFO, the Director FP&A is responsible for developing the FP&A strategy for the organization which has recently undergone a large acquisition. The Director will lead the top-quality execution of the FP&A strategy and enable organizational data-based decision making. You will be responsible for developing a national budget and forecast process including the development of excel models. You will have an opportunity to analytically support the assessment of potential acquisitions and their integration to ensure the business case is achieved. The Director FP&A will develop and implement a Canada wide fit for purpose risk management program. This role reports to the CFO and is responsible for managing one to two direct reports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement Power BI across Canada including aligning with the business on a standard reporting package.
  • Lead a Canada wide streamlined annual budget process and enhance the quarterly forecast model and process.
  • Support the business with deep dive analytics to achieve strategic goals and budget including margin improvement and SG&A efficiency initiatives.
  • Design and perform ad hoc analysis to meet emerging needs.
  • Ensure financial data integrity and consistency.

Required Qualifications
  • CFA
  • 15 y experience in FP&A

Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA/CA
  • Articled at a "big four firm" (Deloitte, EY, PWC and KPMG)

Skills and Competencies
  • Superior Excel and modeling skills
  • Strong knowledge of Power BI
  • Proven track record of partnering with the business
  • Ability to mentor and coach and hold others accountable

  • This role will be based in the Calgary head office.
