We're Seeking Technologists...
  • who have completed an accredited surgical technology program.

As a Surgical Tech you will...
  • be accountable to and work under the direct supervision of an RN when performing patient care activities.
  • demonstrate basic knowledge of general nursing theory, principles and practices of OR nursing.
  • uphold policy and procedure guidelines of the department.
  • scrub under direct supervision of an R.N.
  • demonstrate a good knowledge of aseptic technique.
  • maintain a safe environment for the patient.
  • exercise proper caution in use and care of equipment.
  • assist in the maintenance of supplies and equipment.
  • initiate Point of Use Cleaning of instrumentations in preparation for terminal sterilization.
  • demonstrate stewardship behavior by conserving Operation Room resources (e.g. supplies).
  • perform other job related duties as assigned.


This is a full time position working Monday through Friday, 3:30pm - 12am at NYP/ Lower Manhattan Hospital. Includes rotating weekends and holidays.

Required:
  • HS Diploma / GED equivalent
  • For Current CST: National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting Certification (NBSTSA)
  • For New Graduates: Certification must be obtained within six months of hire. Must supply exam date prior to start of employment and complete a probationary period of six (6) months from date of hire.
  • Handles equipment and instruments correctly to ensure usability and safety of supplies and material; manual dexterity
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Demonstrates troubleshooting procedures for equipment
  • Understands and practices safety measures for care of patients
  • Ability to lift instruments sets
  • Ability to pay attention to details

Salary Range:

$37.35-$47.21/Hourly
