Overview of the Position:

Responsible for the daily management of quality functions at the Operational level. Coordinate and direct the work activities and resources of the Quality group based on direction from the Quality Director in order to attain corporate goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage the Quality team by providing leadership and direction on performance evaluations, goals, hiring and disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Coordinate with Quality Director and Operations Director to manage daily work assignments for Quality team to ensure compliance to industry acceptance standards while supporting the production schedule.
  • Assure the following of all quality procedures and work instructions within the Operations area.
  • Assist with the management and control of nonconforming product, product disposition.
  • Maintain and periodically report on metrics showing how the quality control organization and Company as a whole is doing in meeting internal and external commitments.
  • Delegate problem resolution with vendors concerning quality control requirements and supporting those in Quality Support when follow up needed.
  • Communicate quality control requirements to internal and external customers.
  • Support both internal and external customers with any Quality based issues.
  • Coordinate the performance of FAI inspections with the FAI/Chief Inspector and support with inspection duties when needed.
  • Perform duties as Customer Delegation Representative as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to type and use a computer
  • Ability to use and present information by use of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook or related programs
  • General knowledge of drawing/data systems and configuration management principles and processes
  • Working knowledge of inspection tools such as micrometer or calipers preferred
  • Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001 or similar quality standard
  • Full understanding of First Articles and how to create documents associated with the First Article AS9102 Form
  • Ability to read complex mechanical drawings including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and ASME Y14.5 desired


Education / Experience Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Quality Engineering or similar preferred with five years of related experience in a quality environment or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience in aerospace quality assurance preferred.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

  • Is frequently required to talk or listen.
  • Works in moderate noise levels.
  • Minimal travel required.
