The Opportunity:

CACI is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join and support our IAM team with access management initiatives using IDS/IPS, Corelight, and Suricata. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of IAM best practices and hands-on experience with all three specific platforms. This candidate will support a DHS facility located in Stennis, MS.

The Sr. Security Engineer should feel comfortable working on customer site and remotely while optimizing the network security infrastructure and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance DHS' overall security posture. This role is part of the IAM Team of Engineers working to define, develop, and manage strategies that reduce risk and improves resiliency.

Responsibilities:

The Sr. Security Engineer will:
Serve as a local network detection point of contact for the DHS Stennis, Ms. location providing technical guidance and supporting the IDS/IPS, Corelight, and Suricata implementations.
Support the design, implementation, and maintaining of all three solutions and technologies
Configure, tune, and optimize Corelight sensors for enhanced network visibility
Develop, deploy, and maintain Suricata rules for effective threat detection
Analyze network traffic and security events to identify and respond to potential threats
Collaborate with other security teams to integrate IDS/IPS, Corelight, and Suricata data into the overall security ecosystem
Conduct regular network performance and optimizations of detection systems
Troubleshoot complex issues and provide technical support to end-users and IT support teams
Document and map the architecture of the current IAM solutions
Support the development of a Security Engineering Tool roadmap
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance overall security posture through automation
Stay current with emerging security technologies and industry trends to recommend improvements or additions.

Qualifications:

Required:
Ability to attain DHS EOD and Top Secret (TS) clearance
ITIL V4 Foundations certification (or obtain in first 6 months)
MA/MS or equivalent +10 years of experience (BA/BS + 13yrs or AA/AS +15yrs)
Significant experience in IAM with at least 3 years focused on network security, specifically IDS/IPS technologies
5+ years of hands-on experience with Corelight and Suricata
Strong understanding of network protocols and traffic analysis
Proficient with scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.)
4 or more years of hands-on experience in enterprise network IT support
Experience working with and guiding technicians with varying skill levels and supporting end users remotely
Experience with security tools and technologies, like SIEM and firewalls
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in optimizing security workflows
Professional, customer-oriented, and even-keeled under pressure
Effective communicator at all levels, both written and verbal

Desired:
Any of the following certifications:
o GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA)
o EC-Council Certified Security Analyst (ECSA)
o Corelight Certified Engineer (CCE)
o Corelight Certified Analyst (CCA)
o OISF Suricata Training Certificate
Significant experience with DevOps practice and tools
Cybersecurity relevant certification Security +, CEH, GPEN, OSEP, Information Systems Security Engineering Professional (ISSEP)

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:
$86,000 - $189,100
