As a Backup and Data Protection Specialist, you will be tasked with the management, configuration, and maintenance of our backup and recovery systems. The backup infrastructure you will be responsible for supports the Development Networks utilized by the Aeronautics business area to develop software for air combat platforms like the F-16, F-22 and F-35. You will ensure data protection and integrity, implement disaster recovery plans, and provide technical support for backup solutions to meet the organization's IT infrastructure requirements.

Who we are:
Our Solutions and Embedded team is part of the Classified IT organization within Lockheed Martin's Enterprise Business and Digital Transformation business area. The Embedded Development Networks we support for Aeronautics are air gapped networks that are isolated from the internet and operate similar to classified networks. The networks and environments are complex and diverse.

The Work:
As a Systems Administrator Sr / Data Protection Specialist on the Embedded team, you will:
Manage and maintain the Veritas NetBackup environment.
Configure backup jobs and schedules.
Monitor backup operations and troubleshoot failures.
Develop and implement disaster recovery plans.
Provide technical support and guidance on Veritas NetBackup software.
Ensure compliance with data protection policies and regulations.
Document configurations and procedures for backup and recovery operations.
Conduct regular audits and performance tuning of backup systems.
Participate in recurring Change Control Board meetings
Collaborate with stakeholders to help architect and implement our NextGen Backup/Restore solution
After hours and weekend support will be required to support business requirements, as needed

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience with Veritas NetBackup software.
Strong understanding of data protection and disaster recovery principles.
Certifications in Veritas NetBackup or related technology preferred.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Ability to work remotely

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $81,600 - $143,865. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.

Premium Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $93,800 - $162,610. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
