PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:
The Small Business Relationship Manager (SBRM) is responsible to develop and maintain a portfolio of Retail and Small Business customers for the Bank, work to deepen those relationships through active client management, and cross sell core deposit, loan and cash management products. The SBRM will focus primarily on the Bank's smaller Commercial relationships housed at the branch level.

Bachelor's degree in a business-related discipline, and a minimum of 5 years' sales and/or relationship management experience, preferably in Retail/Business Banking and/or outside professional sales, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

ONGOING ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develop customer relationships and/or retain and expand existing relationships by proactively identifying opportunities through regular sales calls and appointments.
- Utilize a needs-based sales approach to understand clients' needs and offer customized solutions.
- Work closely with the bank's credit underwriting team as it related to the underwriting and credit approval process for new loans and annual reviews of existing credit relationships.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of available SBA loan programs to provide tailored solutions to meet individual business term loans and lines of credit needs.
- Maintain an extensive knowledge of all Retail related procedures, products and services, and a strong general knowledge of Commercial and Cash Management products and services.
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of market trends and the competitive landscape related to business banking, including best practices related to products and services, systems, and compliance.
- Take ownership of account servicing and error resolution, including resolving routine customer problems and referring more complex issues accordingly. Follow-up on these issues as required ensuring timely and accurate resolution and convert servicing situations into sales opportunities.
- Proactively collaborate with all GRB sales partners to cross sell Deposit and Loan products and services.
- Consistently exceed customer expectations by providing best-in-class customer service.
- Contribute to client satisfaction by meeting sales and service expectations, resolving problems, and developing ideas to improve overall performance.
- Active participation in demonstrating the behaviors outlined in the GRB Experience.
- Utilize nCino to memorialize all calling efforts and sales results, to achieve assigned annual sales and referral goals to GRB's internal partners.
- Maintain and ensure all banking and regulatory policies and procedures are adhered to and are up to date.
- All other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in a business-related discipline, and a minimum of 5 years' sales and/or relationship management experience, preferably in Retail/Business Banking and/or outside professional sales, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Expertise in needs-based, consultative selling.
- Proficient understanding of credit review and underwriting process including basic knowledge of financial statements and tax returns.
- Previous credit analysis and/or experience in commercial banking strongly preferred.
