The Role

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Power Platform Developer with deep expertise in building Model Driven Applications and implementing Dataverse solutions. This role will focus on designing and developing sophisticated business applications using the Microsoft Power Platform suite to help our federal and commercial clients automate processes, enhance data management, and improve operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have advanced technical skills in Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dataverse, with a strong understanding of how to architect enterprise-level solutions that leverage the full potential of the Power Platform ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities Model Driven Application Development

• Design and develop sophisticated Model Driven Apps using Power Apps that align with business requirements and user needs
• Create and customize complex entity relationships, forms, views, and business rules in Dataverse
• Implement advanced business logic using Power Fx and JavaScript for client-side customizations
• Develop and optimize Dataverse data models, including entity design, relationships, and security models
• Create custom plug-ins and custom workflow activities using .NET when standard functionality is insufficient
• Implement and configure business process flows, dialogs, and action processes in Model Driven Apps
• Design and implement role-based security models and field-level security in Dataverse environments

Power Platform Integration and Workflow Automation

• Build comprehensive Power Automate flows to automate complex business processes across multiple systems
• Develop custom connectors for integrating with external systems and APIs
• Implement Azure Integration services to connect Power Platform solutions with enterprise systems
• Create AI Builder models and incorporate them into Power Apps and Power Automate solutions
• Develop integration solutions between Dataverse and other Microsoft services (Dynamics 365, Teams, etc.)
• Implement data migration and synchronization strategies between systems
• Design and develop Power BI dashboards and reports that integrate with Dataverse data

Solution Architecture and Governance

• Lead the architectural design of enterprise-scale Power Platform solutions
• Establish best practices, coding standards, and governance policies for Power Platform development
• Implement ALM strategies using Azure DevOps or GitHub for Power Platform solutions
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior developers on the team
• Conduct code reviews and solution assessments to ensure quality and maintainability
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Create technical documentation for solutions, including architecture diagrams, data models, and user guides

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in software development or business application development
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience developing solutions with Microsoft Power Platform
• Strong expertise in developing Model Driven Apps using Power Apps and Dataverse
• Advanced knowledge of Dataverse data modeling, entity relationships, and security configuration
• Proficiency in Power Fx, JavaScript, and C# for extending Power Platform capabilities
• Experience implementing complex business logic and workflows using Power Automate
• Strong understanding of Power Platform licensing models and governance best practices
• Experience with solution ALM practices including deployment pipelines and version control
• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure services that integrate with Power Platform
• Proven experience in requirements gathering and solution design for business applications
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills for explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Microsoft Power Platform certifications (PL-400, PL-600) preferred
• Experience with federal government clients and security compliance requirements a plus
• U.S. Citizenship required
• Must be located in the Washington DC Metro Area

Work Location: Hybrid (Rockville, MD up to 3 days per week)
