The Opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director, People Business Partner to join our team. This role will serve as a trusted advisor to the executive leadership team, creating, developing, and implementing talent solutions that align with our business outcomes. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of organizational design & effectiveness, workforce planning, performance management, and strategic planning. About the Team
The Director of People Business Partners will join the People Business Partners team at Nutanix, a dynamic group dedicated to aligning talent strategies with business goals across the organization. Based in San Jose, California, the team embodies a culture of collaboration, innovation, and support, focusing on empowering employees and enhancing their experiences at work. The mission of the team is to foster a high-performing workforce that drives strategic initiatives such as leadership development, talent management, and organizational change, while building strong partnerships with business leaders across various regions and countries.
You will report to the Vice-President of People Business Partners, a leader known for their strategic vision and inclusive leadership style that emphasizes empowerment, collaboration, open communication and making an impact through the work they deliver. The work setup for this role is hybrid, requiring the new hire to be present in the San Jose office two to three days a week, allowing for both in-person collaboration and flexibility.
The role has minimal travel requirements, which involves attending business meetings or strategic planning sessions with their business clients once or twice a quarter. This provides an opportunity for networking and increased visibility on the business and talent strengths and opportunities. .
Your Role
Strategic Partnership: Provide strategic HR consultation and expertise to senior leaders global, aligning people strategies with business goals.
Talent Solutions: Develop and implement talent management strategies that drive business outcomes, including workforce planning, talent acquisition, and performance management.
Organizational Design: Lead initiatives in organizational design and effectiveness to ensure the company structure supports business objectives.
Employee Relations: Partner with the Employee Relations team to address and resolve complex employee relations issues, providing guidance and support to leaders and employees.
Leadership Development: Design and deliver leadership development programs to build a strong leadership pipeline.
Culture Champion: participate and support initiatives that help foster an inclusive workplace culture.
Data-Driven Decisions: Utilize data and analytics to inform HR strategies and measure the effectiveness of HR programs and other talent activities within the employee lifecycle..
Change Management: Lead change management efforts to support business transformation and growth.
What You Will Bring
Experience: 12+ years of HR or equivalent business experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within a high-growth environment.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
Experience supporting global engineering and customer facing teams is highly preferred.
Skills: Strong expertise in organizational design, workforce planning, talent management, and strategic consultation.
Leadership: Proven ability to lead and inspire HR teams, with a track record of building high-performing, diverse, and engaged teams.
Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build strong relationships with senior leaders and stakeholders.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate issues and develop proactive solutions.
Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
Work Arrangement
Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. For most roles, that will mean coming into an office a minimum of 2 - 3 days per week, however certain roles and/or teams may require more frequent in-office presence. Additional team-specific guidance and norms will be provided by your manager.
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $ 184,240 and USD $ 368,520 per year.
However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
