The Associate Manager of Technical Accounting is responsible for an organization that owns the financial accounting research, analysis, communication, and documentation of complex business transactions to ensure the appropriate application of US GAAP. Knowledgeable in - and practiced in researching - current US GAAP accounting standards (e.g., ASC 606), SEC regulations, and related developments in interpretive guidance. Experienced in leveraging skillsets to develop others and build a team. Interacts with external stakeholders and internal business personnel to advise on the Company's application of complex accounting guidance while investigating and resolving compliance questions. Capable of distilling complex accounting concepts into key points to report findings of accounting and regulatory recommendations to management and business personnel.
Starts with "yes" to create innovative process solutions, collaborating with program personnel, business development, finance transformation, and other stakeholder teams to continuously improve the standard work associated with analyzing emerging opportunities. Comfortable researching new technology tools (e.g., AI) and how they may be used as part of continuous process improvement. Speaks up knowing input will be heard and valued.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Accounting or Finance
Active Certified Public Accountant license (or comparable certification)
Lead or Management experience in accounting, information systems, processes and (or) internal controls
Knowledgeable in US GAAP requirements
Working knowledge of SAP ledgers and related business processes
Desired skills
Experience performing, documenting, and communicating complex technical accounting analyses for revenue recognition and related contract assets and liabilities (ASC 606), leasing (ASC 842), and business combinations (ASC 805)
Experience working in the aerospace industry or with defense contracts
Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulation(s) (FAR)
Familiarity with Cost Accounting Standard (CAS)
Excellent time-management skills and is adept at prioritizing tasks across multiple deadlines and stakeholders
Experience using data analytics and other digital finance transformation tools (e.g., Tableau, Alteryx, large-language models) to improve the efficiency of accounting-related processes

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $90,200 - $159,045. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
