The Role

We are seeking a visionary Technical Strategist to help shape and guide our clients' technology roadmaps and digital transformation initiatives. This role will focus on analyzing business challenges, identifying emerging technology opportunities, and developing strategic plans that align technology investments with organizational goals. The ideal candidate will combine broad technical knowledge across multiple domains with strong business acumen and consultative skills, enabling them to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value for our federal and commercial clients.

Key Responsibilities Technology Vision and Strategy
  • Develop comprehensive technology strategies that align with clients' business objectives and industry trends
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and assess their potential impact and applicability to client environments
  • Create technology roadmaps that outline phased implementation approaches with clear milestones
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and digital transformation within client organizations
  • Collaborate with executive stakeholders to establish technology investment priorities
  • Balance technical innovation with practical constraints such as legacy systems and budget limitations
  • Develop frameworks for measuring ROI and business value of technology investments

Solution Architecture and Advisory
  • Lead technology discovery workshops to understand client challenges and requirements
  • Architect enterprise-level technology solutions that address complex business problems
  • Provide expert guidance on technology selection, integration, and implementation approaches
  • Advise on interoperability between systems and data sharing across organizational boundaries
  • Develop strategies for cloud migration, modernization, and hybrid architecture
  • Ensure technology solutions meet federal compliance requirements and security standards
  • Create proof-of-concept designs to validate proposed technology approaches

Technology Leadership and Collaboration
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to client leadership on technology strategy and digital initiatives
  • Translate complex technical concepts into business terms for non-technical stakeholders
  • Build consensus among diverse stakeholder groups with competing priorities
  • Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure strategic vision is properly implemented
  • Present technology recommendations and roadmaps to executive audiences
  • Partner with sales teams to develop compelling technology solutions for new opportunities
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and federal IT mandates

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related field; Master's preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in technology consulting, enterprise architecture, or strategic IT roles
  • Broad knowledge across multiple technology domains (cloud, data, AI/ML, cybersecurity, enterprise applications)
  • Experience developing technology strategies and roadmaps for large organizations
  • Strong understanding of federal IT environments, policies, and compliance requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to translate technical concepts into business value propositions
  • Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman, FEA, etc.)
  • Knowledge of modern software development methodologies and IT operating models
  • Proven track record of guiding digital transformation initiatives
  • Experience with technology portfolio management and investment prioritization
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to engage at executive levels
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Consultative approach with exceptional stakeholder management skills
  • Industry certifications in relevant technology or architecture domains preferred
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Must be located in the Washington DC Metro Area

Work Location: Hybrid (Rockville, MD up to 3 days per week)
