Compensation: $120K - $150K/year

We are seeking a Senior Aero-Thermal Analyst to join a cutting-edge aerospace engineering team in Mukilteo, WA. This role is central to the development, analysis, and validation of complex aerospace systems and supports all phases of the product lifecycle-from early design through final system verification. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in aerothermal modeling, structural analysis, and multidisciplinary system behavior.

You'll be stepping into a high-impact position formerly held by Nathan Lipshutz and reporting directly to Joshua Okrent, within a dynamic and collaborative engineering environment.Key Responsibilities
  • Apply core physics concepts (mechanics, aerodynamics, thermodynamics, electromagnetism) to solve multidisciplinary engineering problems.
  • Perform aero-thermal simulations and heat transfer analysis using STAR-CCM+ and FEMAP.
  • Conduct structural viability analysis of aerospace structures using FEA tools and hand calculations.
  • Model high-energy events such as pyrotechnic and pneumatic gas dynamics.
  • Support design decisions by assessing system performance and operational trade-offs.
  • Prepare test plans and provide technical oversight during test execution.
  • Document engineering analyses, results, and verification reports to meet aerospace standards.
  • Ensure compliance with system-level and customer requirements throughout the engineering process.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or closely related field.
  • 4-10 years of relevant experience in aerospace or defense industries.
  • Expertise with STAR-CCM+, FEMAP, NASTRAN, and FEA tools.
  • LS-DYNA proficiency is a plus.
  • Familiarity with CATIA V5, SolidWorks, and aerospace-grade materials (metallic and composite).
  • Solid foundation in analytical theory and physics-based modeling.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical report writing.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible for DoD SECRET Clearance.
