The Director of Operations will have day-to-day responsibility for running state-side operational teams. Key responsibilities include:
Oversee the day-to-day running of the business to ensure successfully met service level agreements
Evaluate the efficiency of business processes and improve, as appropriate
Drive key initiatives, as identified and aligned with business objectives
Supervise, coach and develop operational leaders and their teams
Effectively communicating with all employees throughout the organization

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic Leadership
    • Collaborate, develop and implement business strategies, plans, and procedures
    • Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth
    • Provide expert insights on industry trends, underwriting processes, claims management, regulatory compliance, technology enhancement opportunities, emerging risks, and competitive market dynamics.
    • Offer strategic recommendations for operational enhancements and process improvements.
  • Performance Management & Development
    • Lead employees to encourage maximum performance and dedication
    • Evaluate performance by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics
  • Run the Business
    • Oversee daily operations of the company
    • Establish policies that promote company culture and vision
    • Develop and implement best practices, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) to maintain high service standards.
    • Assess and manage the risks to the company's financial and operational objectives
    • Manage and analyze budget to find ways to optimize profitability
    • Enforce regulatory standards
  • Stakeholder Management
    • Act as a key liaison between internal and external stakeholders
    • Provide regular updates on project progress, performance metrics, strategic initiatives, risks and risk resolutions.
    • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between cross-functional teams.
    • Facilitate alignment across cross-functional teams to achieve business goals.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, or a related field (required)
  • 8-10 years experience as an operational leader in an insurance setting (required)
  • Experience with commercial property and casualty insurance (preferred)
