About the role:
As the Controller, you will oversee the accounting operations and financial reporting of the organization. This role requires a strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), internal controls, and financial analysis. The Controller will be responsible for managing the month-end close process, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This position will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and other department leaders to provide accurate and timely financial information that supports the company's strategic decision-making.

Estimated Starting Salary Range:
The estimated starting salary range for this role is $176,000 - $204,000 annually less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on asemi-monthly basis. The actual salary offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined in the Company's discretion, which may include experience, qualifications, tenure, skill set, availability of qualified candidates, geographic location, certifications held, and other criteria deemed pertinent to the particular role.

Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, and provide insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Accounting Operations Management: Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
- Internal Controls and Compliance: Develop and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations and policies.
- Month-End and Year-End Close: Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all necessary tasks and reconciliations.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets and forecasts, providing variance analysis and recommendations for improvement.
Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (or related field) and a CPA license.
- 8+ years' experience in accounting management.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
- Expertise in internal controls, financial analysis, and budgeting/forecasting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, with advanced Excel skills.
- Start-up experience.
- ERP implementation experience.

- Power/Energy/Utility industry experience.
- Audit process implementation experience.
- Big 4 audit experience.
