Google Distributed Cloud air-gapped is a new converged hardware/software solution for customers who want the benefits of Google Cloud on premises in disconnected environments. It consists of a full hardware (rack, network switches, compute servers, storage appliances, etc.) and software (operating system, Anthos, Kubernetes, KVM/QEMU, etc.) stack. Google Distributed Cloud Hosted (GDCH) offers a number of first-party Google Cloud services (managed and supported by Google) including Virtual Machines (VMs), Kubernetes Clusters, AI/ML services, databases, and more.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $248,000-$349,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development and design.
- 7 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
- 5 years of experience with design and architecture; and testing, launching software products.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 8 years of experience in software development, and with data structures/algorithms.
- 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
- 3 years of experience working in a matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.

Responsibilities
- Guide and shape future products by providing product design engineering into the technology roadmap with data-oriented decisions. Provide engineering knowledge and mentor team members.
- Lead the team and oversee the functional and performance characteristics of networking, compute and storage resources to make sure their latency, throughput, computation and capacity parameters align with the customer requirements and GDCH roadmap.
- Lead the team to define and design strategies and develop technical solutions.
- Ensure the Infrastructure components meet the security and compliance requirements.
