This is a hands-on, implementation-focused role requiring a strong developer skillset within the context of Ad Operations. You will be the primary engineer responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of our client's website and app tagging strategies. While some QA is involved, the client has a dedicated QA resource for final validation, allowing you to focus on the core development aspects of the role.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Tagging Implementation & Maintenance: Design, develop, and implement sophisticated tagging solutions using Tealium iQ Tag Management System (TMS), including custom variables, for advanced reporting, optimization, and personalization (e.g., Floodlights, Meta, Pinterest, GA4, etc.). This includes both client-side and server-side implementations (APIs, Webhooks via Tealium EventStream).
  • SDK & Event Tracking: Develop, maintain, and evolve SDKs and event tracking for websites and apps, ensuring accurate data capture and reporting.
  • API Integration: Leverage APIs for server-to-server (S2S) tagging and integration with various ad tech platforms and vendors.
  • Troubleshooting & Debugging: Diagnose and resolve issues related to tracking gaps and reporting discrepancies. Collaborate with internal teams (Account Management, Client Marketers, Channel, Analytics) and external vendors to troubleshoot media tracking challenges. Utilize debugging tools (Developer Tools, Omnibug, BrowserStack, ObservePoint).
  • Quality Assurance (QA): Conduct thorough testing and validation of tag deployments to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed and up-to-date documentation of all tagging implementations.
  • Collaboration & Training: Work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams. Train others on technical aspects of tagging and related processes.
  • Project Management: Utilize project management tools like Jira and Confluence to manage tasks and track progress


Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, high school diploma/GED and 6+ years of relevant marketing experience
  • Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in a developer role within Ad Operations, with a proven track record of implementing and maintaining complex tagging solutions. Experience working with various vendors is essential.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in: JavaScript, HTML, jQuery, JSON, DOM manipulation.
    • Expert-level knowledge of: Tealium iQ Tag Management System (TMS). Experience with Google Tag Manager (GTM) is a plus.
    • Experience with: Implementing and troubleshooting API Connectors and Webhooks via EventStream (Tealium's server-side solution).
    • Strong understanding of: marketing technology (Martech) landscape, including various marketing platforms (Meta, Google, Pinterest, etc.).
    • Experience with: debugging tools (Developer Tools, Omnibug, BrowserStack, ObservePoint).
    • Familiarity with: privacy-first tracking solutions and consent management platforms (OneTrust is a plus).
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
