As the Sr. Program Manager, Data Lifecycle Management, you will lead the development and implementation of TELUS' enterprise-wide DLM (Data Lifecycle Management) compliance program. Leveraging your expertise in governance frameworks and policy implementation, you'll collaborate with leadership to drive key initiatives, including the rollout of a data retention schedule, performance measurement, and stakeholder training. This is a strategic opportunity to shape enterprise-wide data governance and maximize the value of TELUS' data assets.

As the Sr. Program Manager, Data Lifecycle Management, you will lead the development and implementation of TELUS' enterprise-wide DLM (Data Lifecycle Management) compliance program. Leveraging your expertise in governance frameworks and policy implementation, you'll collaborate with leadership to drive key initiatives, including the rollout of a data retention schedule, performance measurement, and stakeholder training. This is a strategic opportunity to shape enterprise-wide data governance and maximize the value of TELUS' data assets.
What you'll do
- Build and maintain an enterprise compliance program to ensure adherence to the Data Lifecycle Management Policy and standards.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on DLM, delivering updates, training, and communications to both internal DTO stakeholders and broader enterprise teams.
- Implement and maintain the enterprise Data Retention Schedule (Canadian and global), including creating support materials, change request processes, and approval workflows.
- Design and deliver targeted DLM training programs for specific audiences, including Data Stewards, senior leadership, and DTO partners.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent application of DLM principles across the organization.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of the DLM program, identifying areas for implementing technology solutions.
- Establish and maintain effective communication channels with key stakeholders to report on progress and address challenges.
Qualifications
What you bring
- Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 7-10+ years of experience in technology governance.
- Proven experience implementing policies and retention schedules in a complex technology environment.
- Demonstrated success in building and managing enterprise governance programs.
- Extensive experience engaging and managing cross-functional stakeholder groups.
- A collaborative mindset and the confidence to share ideas and influence outcomes.
- Strong community engagement and relationship-building skills.
- Exceptional communication skills to align diverse teams and influence senior-level audiences.
- Ability to translate complex business problems into structured business cases and programs.
- Proactive problem-solving and gap identification skills.
- High adaptability and the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.
Great-to-haves
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CIPM, CIPP, CDMP).
- Experience in regulated industries such as finance, healthcare, or telecommunications.
- Familiarity with tools such as OneTrust, Google Vault, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Bilingualism in English and French (verbal and/or written).
- Strong knowledge of global data privacy and AI regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, PIPEDA, EU AI Act)
