PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
An Aircraft Master Technician reports to the Chief of Maintenance. An Aircraft Master Technician is a certified FAA mechanic who is responsible for inspecting, installing parts, performing preventive maintenance, Return to Service and conducting repairs on company aircraft. They will be very familiar with aircraft engines, hydraulic systems, fuel systems, electronic systems, avionics systems, airframes, landing gear etc.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
An Aircraft Master Technician reports to the Chief of Maintenance. An Aircraft Master Technician is a certified FAA mechanic who is responsible for inspecting, installing parts, performing preventive maintenance, Return to Service and conducting repairs on company aircraft. They will be very familiar with aircraft engines, hydraulic systems, fuel systems, electronic systems, avionics systems, airframes, landing gear etc.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- 1. Perform Scheduled and Unscheduled Maintenance on Company Aircraft to FAA and OEM standards. a. Maintains company's aircraft inspection criteria and maintenance logbook. b. Holds Inspection Authorization (IA) designation and signs off on aircraft inspections. Obtains Inspection Authorization during employment at soonest within standard guidelines. c. Performs designated inspector duties during maintenance operations and time required inspections. d. Will be cross-trained to install, inspect, test, adjust, and repair industry standard equipment such as aircraft communication and navigation systems, radar, autopilot systems, and other electronic devices, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical systems, engines and auxiliary power units, fuel systems and all airframe components. e. Complies with return to service authorization after maintenance per FAR requirements.
- 2. Order, receive, and ship aircraft parts and materials; domestic and international, per company, FAA, and IATA standards.
- 3. Ensure aircraft are maintained in accordance with FAA and Manufacturer recommended maintenance programs. a. Maintain and oversee hangar facility repairs, hangar time required due items, Facilities fire protection systems, company owned ground service equipment maintenance and scheduled inspections to include regulatory ANSI inspections on safety equipment.
- 4. Monitor, project, and oversee aircraft on-site and off-site maintenance and keeping to company budgetary requirements. a. Keeps abreast of improvements and progress in the aviation industry with particular reference to maintenance, repair methods, procedures, and industry-related improvements to Flight Department operations by attending industry conferences and/or web-based training programs. b. Obtains Master Technician qualification on all company owned model aircraft through Flight Safety accreditation programs.
- 5. Perform arrival and departure duties including assisting passenger loading and crew servicing coordination.
- 6. Perform Master Technician duties on assigned board meetings, international trips and other trips as required.
- 7. Accept additional duties assigned by the Chief of Maintenance and provides technical direction and decision-making input in the Chief of Maintenance's absence.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- FAA A&P License (Violation Free) with completion of Inspector Authorization within 3 years of employment.
- 10-15 years corporate aircraft maintenance experience.
- Microsoft Office and Apple IOS operating experience.
- Ability to travel 15-20% of the time.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 15+ Years corporate aircraft maintenance experience.
- Avionics/Airframe or Engine/Airframe experience.
- Associate degree preferred but not required.
